If I wanted to become retarded I would have stayed in Fort Collins to go to college.

I thought I heard Pedey backed out of their game with Lavonne's when he heard Lavonne's stayed within 6 TD's of University of Houston.

And the huskers better be ready to play, Nevada almost beat Miami, Fla last year in the bowl game.

Way too many alcohol issues in the past at Invesco from both sides when the game was later. I seem to recall either the city of Denver or officials from CU saying that the game would be early from that point on to minimize the out of control drunks.

as if the time of day will have an impact on that...
i do hate 10am games though...especially at invesco....
although breakfast burritos and bloody mary's do sound like decent tailgating fare....
(right sacky....?)

I think it will. Most college kids dont like to get up early, so they will only have a couple hours to drink. They wont be nearly as trashed and worked up as if it was an afternoon game.

It definitely makes a difference and that's exactly why they play it so early now.
Of course they'll use TV as an excuse but you can't tell me that FSN or whoever wouldn't rather put the game in an afternoon or evening time slot.....

Ahhh, baloney. There haven't been significant alcohol problems since the CSU fans started their riot and somehow managed to convince the press that it was all CU's fault. :wow:
They have played a few games in the late afternoon since that game with no incidents. This is all related to TV.
It still sucks, though.

Why get up at all? Make it an over night bender. Problem solved.

That all depends on when they open up the parking lots. They usually do it about three hours prior to kickoff.

No, I donīt mean getting drunk at the tailgate. Go out the night before and get drunk, get home when the bars close and drink some more with your friends there and then set off for Invesco. Donīt tell me you never did an over night bender when you were young. ;)

The last time we played the CSU game early at Invesco I was a student and I stayed up all night drinking and headed down to Invesco the next morning with my roomates. Slept like a baby on the ride home.

Do I need to go edit all my countdown posts and subtract 3 1/2 hours? :sad2: I will change my countdown clock. So the bright side of the 10AM kickoff is that the season starts sooner than we expected!

Actually, the Invesco games are early specifically due to alcohol problems. The games in Boulder don't fall under this.

I specifically remember it being dark when Bloom caught that ball from Klatt. I also remember him catching the ball in Denver.

Yep, but the last or past 2 games at Invesco have been early specifically due to alcohol. I seem to remember a joint decision between the city of Denver, Tharpe and driscoll

The last game was a day game. The previous Invesco game was the Thunder/Lightening/Klatt game of his life game. The 2002 and 2001 games were day games and 1998 and 1999 were early afternoon and night respectively.
The 2004 game in Boulder was a night game, the 2005 game was a day game.

****ing gold!
Even better was the fact that Colorado ran up the ridiculous amount of points using second string quarterback Bobby Pesavento. (When you think destroying the vaunted Blackshirt defense..who DOESN'T immediately think of football legends like Bobby Pesavento). Regardless, Colorado's 64 point ass pounding of the BCS's top ranked school (insert snicker) was the most points allowed by a Nebraska team since the mid 1800's, when a group of native Americans ran up and down on a group of Nebraska settlers, after distracting them with red beaver pelts and winning 180-3.
LMFAO!
The fallout from that Colorado bitchslapping in late 2001 is still up for debate today. But it is not coincidence that things have yet to be the same since, and Husker fan no longer feels that a 10-0 start is a God-given right. Oh wait...actually they do, but Colorado really beat the ****ing piss out of them, running through holes the size of Mark Mangino's coaching sweats.
VVurd!
For steamrolling a Husker team in a way that had never been seen before, for proving that the BCS is sprinkled with horseshit, and for ruining the life of some 12 year old Husker fan, who's dad dragged him to the game in Boulder, promising him that they'd go to Disneyland if they won but instead getting hit by a urine bomb from the CU student section....The 2001 North Champion Colorado Buffaloes finish with the #4 Husker loss of all time.
