i like CU better than 12th. I also like ISU higher than they are here. ATM lower.

Shockingly, they actually put a little thought into their votes. Major shakeup versus where they finished in the conference standings last year. This wasn't just a "put them in the same order and be done with it" exercise.
Following is the preseason list with last year's finish in parentheses.
1. Kansas (1)
2. Texas (4t)
3. Oklahoma (2)
4. Kansas State (4t)
5. Texas A&M (4t)
6. Oklahoma State (4t)
7. Missouri (3)
8. Iowa State (10)
9. Texas Tech (11)
10. Baylor (9)
11. Nebraska (8)
12. Colorado (12)
Texas Tech hasn't actually improved, Baylor and Nebraska both just look worse. Colorado could easily finish in 9th. We'd probably need some good surprises to finish higher than that. 5 or 6 wins in the Big 12 is about what I expect this year.
ISU gets a generous 8th on the strength of Craig Brackins. I say they end up challenging Tech, NU and CU to stay out of the basement this year. It'll be a real shuffle at 9-12, with one loss probably separating all spots.
Personal order?
1. Texas
2. Kansas
3. Oklahoma
4. Oklahoma State
5. Kansas State
6. Missouri
7. Texas A&M
8. Baylor
9. Iowa State
10. Colorado
11. Texas Tech
12. Nebraska

Agreed on all accounts. I think A&M might really struggle this year and finish in the bottom third.

i think UT will be a serious Elite 8 type team by the end of the year....Barnes has talent in his ear wax. But, i don't think they will win the conference if only KU benefits from being in the North in addition to being crazy sick with McD's AA's.
quick hitters:
OSU needs some inside game to match James Anderson and Obi Muenelo
OU struggles some but ends up a 5-6-7 type seed. they have no rebounding and everybody will double team Warren on the perimeter and make the other Sooners beat them. inexperience.
MU: losing Carroll, Lyons, and Lawrence.....somehow i can't see these guys better than 8-8. dangerous on a given night, but not a NCAA team. i think Mizzou fans are obnoxious but i like Mike Anderson. would have been my first choice at CU, were we not lame-ducking Ricardo.
aTm: not a huge fan of Turgeon and losing Sloan and the other cat to the draft....i don't see them above .500 in league.
Tech: some good players, but Pat Knight is like Hawk...some novelty wins but the overall record makes your scratch your head.
KSU: talent, top 150 recruits. not sure about Martin as with P. Knight.
ISU: McDermott gets all kinds of praise from conference coaches for x's and o's.....but he's got to win with Brackins this year.
Baylor: lot of top 150 recruit talent, but not sure Drew's no D approach is quite the same as Tarkanian or Billy Tubbs. how many years was Jarrels there? 8? No Jarrels this year. just Lacedarius Dunn and the whitest stiff in the League: Josh Lomars.
NU: Like Doc as a coach, don't know anything about the team except they are bound to have some cat named "Cookie" running point.
