Couldn't agree more ... we REALLY NEED to win this one.

The fact that Woelk chose to write about basketball the day after spring football practices started say a lot about how far this program has come. One interesting thing he picked up on for the rematch with Tech is that Bzdelik's decade-plus in the NBA might be an advantage for us:
But he also knows the danger the immediate future holds, as he likened the back-to-back matchup with Texas Tech to an NBA playoff series.
"You make adjustments," Bzdelik said. "Sometimes you make adjustments for the better and sometimes for the worse. You just have to evaluate the film and see perhaps what you can do better schematically that might help you.
"Sometimes you don`t do a thing."

I think he's pointing out that it may have more to do with how far the football program has fallen than how far the basketball program has progressed.

Sacky? Aren't you going to tell us that this is a must win game and that if the buffs don't win the whole season is worthless?

Yeah. Really, though, the final home game of the men's basketball season with postseason on the line should be a bigger story than the first spring football practice. Football will always be king at CU, but MBB needs to be a relevant #2 if we want the athletic department to be strong.

This isn't a must win. Had they won a few of the previous "must win" games, they wouldn't be an 8th seed looking at the prospect of *maybe* playing the #1 team in the country in the second round of the tournament (assuming they beat Tech, that is). Make fun of me all you want, but what I said was true. If they had won those games, they'd be talking about going to the tournament. Instead, they're hoping to win a first round game and hopefully get into the NIT.

We can be both. First things first - let's get some postseason basketball in this b*tch.

No we'd still be the 8th seed. If they could have won the games they lost in the final minute(ISU, A&M, and KU) they'd be at 9-7. That'd be tied with Texas and Okie State, and both teams beat us going away so we'd be on the bottom of a tiebreaker. Not to get technical, but it brings up the bigger point that the Big 12 was just that good this year. Overall you're right about the tourney. If they pull those 3 games out, and get the win at Oregon State like they should have :bang:, they'd be a very respectable 19-11 overall and would definitely be a bubble team.
