If it's in the Coloradoan, it must be true.
CSU admissions placing value on talent (http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20101212/NEWS01/12120337/CSU-admissions-placing-value-on-talent)
CSU is developing a new system to admit prospective student athletes and musicians with "exceptional talent" but who otherwise might not get in due to low grades or test scores. You know, because kids are more than their test score and GPA, according to the article.
Athletes and other "talented" prospective students, such as marching band members, would get some preferential treatment by admissions.

So does this mean they are accepting high school dropouts now?

When you have no standards to begin with, how can you lower them?

Sounds pretty smart to me.
If they increase the size of the band and add 1,000 new members... that would instantly increase the attendance to their football games by 1,000 :smile2:

The new CSU entrance exam is the "mirror test".
An admissions officer places the mirror in front of the applicants mouth. If it fogs, then admitted.
Interesting aside to this: Initially, they tried testing by placing the mirror under the noses of the applicants. After no one was able to be admitted, CSU did a comprehensive study that revealed that all of their applicants were not, in fact, dead. Most of them were just mouth breathers.

At least when CSU's short buses pull into Mile High, they can use the handicap spaces.
That'll make it easier for Fairchild to offload the drool buckets.

which would be the smart thing to do. create a "6%" rule and you don't have to KYOA in public, like they are doing now.

Funny thread...the fact the sheephumper safety school had standards to lower was a surprise to me. I just assumed anybody who showed up with a check or the ability to fill out a student loan app was in....

Today's episode of softening CSU's craptastic standards is brought to you by Kaopectate, Simplicity, and the Crayola 8 pack. It is no coincidence crayons are sold in yellow and green boxes.
