We need the cash. Sucks, but the AD needs as much as it can garner this year and national tv helps. This is perhaps the first year I can remember where every game is going to be broadcasted. Yes! (even if we aren't very good)
Hopefully this game isn't over until the 3rd quarter though. Need to show at least some kind of life.

I have to assume that the P12 agreed that they would push their TV partners to put the Buffs on TV as much as possible this year to make up for the lack of sharing in the media rights.

After the ducklings lost to the Mad Hatter's crew, the only way they get a sniff at the MNC game is to blow out their opponents as much as possible. The ducks will not let up...it's gonna be ugly. Our D has valiantly held up and played hard, but OU has what we don't....speed and lots of it.

2007 team was miles better than the current version. Georgia was a 6 win team, Oregon is top ten. Do not get your hopes up.

Just ask Oklahoma WV Georgia etc.. if you should "book that"As others have pointed out, the 2007 Buffs had not had every competitive instinct coached out of them by the flim flam man yet, and had some quality talent, which is in much shorter supply on the 2011 version of the Buffs. Bill Stewart was as close to the level of DII Danny ineptitude as you are likely to see and was shown the door in a shorter time frame than D II. Georgia wasn't nearly as good as we thought they were when they came to Boulder last year...I hope you are right, but I bet you aren't.

Whats the fun of going to a game if you go into it thinking your team is gonna lose? Do you do it so no matter what happens either your team won or you were right about them losing? Does it feel good to say "I told you so" to optimistic fans when we lose? Does it make you feel smarter when you say you "called" that we were gonna lose? I know all you guys are big fans but I just don't get it. Is being right held higher than supporting the team? If you want the team to expect to win you should expect them to win too.
And thats my rant of the day.

"Rah rah, our team has chance!" is good up to a point. Find a balance between that and "We are the worst team ever assembled!" when you are watching a rebuilding team.

What is the point of predicting a loss against a top flight team? It's a step towards preparing yourself for the disappointment suffered by being beaten.
Predicting a loss shows that, as an informed football fan, you are paying attention to the reality of the situation. The teams with better players tend to beat teams that are talent poor.
Predictions are not the same as hope. A fan of the underdog can hope for victory and be pleasantly surprised by the upset, yet still predict a loss. A CU fan can pray like crazy that Coach Embree and his Buffs find a way to win. I know I do. But I stop short of predicting a win.
To take your question one step further, are you willing to place a bet that the Buffs beat Oregon? By placing a wager on this next game, a fan places a monetary value on their prediction. How much are you willing to wager on the game?
As they say, never bet more than you are willing to lose.
Predicting a loss is one way to keep your sanity and to display your grip on reality. But predicting a loss doesn't necessarily mean you've given up hope nor forfeited allegiance to your team. A Buff victory would be an unexpected surprise that would energize the fan base, and it is exactly what Buff Nation needs. Both the nayseyers and delusional optimists would rejoice together should the Buff pull out a homecoming win against Oregon. It's possible that the Buffs could beat the Ducks. That's why they play the game. Just don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen.
Nobody who watched the last two heartbreaking losses at Folsom expected CU to collapse against Cal and Washington State. Lots of fans predicted a Buff victory in those two games. But those predictions didn't pan out. Those predictions were basically worthless, as it's the players and coaches that execute on the field, not the collective forecasts of the fans. In both of CU's home games, the Buffs found a way to choke.
Against elite teams like Stanford and Ohio State, the Buffs weren't even competitive...never in the game. Oregon is an elite team that comes to Folsom. It's not hard to connect the dots.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Washington is up next. Come on Buffs, let's beat those Huskies.

Holding my wife's hair back when she's sick isn't much fun either, but I still attend that event. Sometimes you gotta love your team 'cause they're hurting too.
