    Junior Gus Hander was one of 51 players nationally named to the Rimington Trophy watch list Tuesday, an award presented to the country's best center at season's end. Handler is one of five Pac-12 players on the list.

      It's good to seea player getting some preseason recognition. Play hard Gus and good things will happen.

      I can't see him winning it this year, but he could certainly be a finalist with a big year and position himself as a real contender his senior year. It all starts up front. Handler's the key to our OL. Whenever CU's had a great center, we've had a great OL.

      whenever we've had a great OL, we've had a very good to great center imo. not sure it's automatic the other way.

      Or maybe they're tied together. No center can be a star without a strong OL unit to each side... and no OL can be great if it's got a poor C anchoring the middle.

      I think you make a great point. OL has to be thought of as a 5-headed monster. We've seen guys like Solder fail to meet fan expectations because the unit was sub-par.
