Penalties continue to vex Buffaloes

BOULDER — So, about all those penalties.

The Colorado Buffaloes finished 118th among the nation’s 120 Division I football teams in 2009 with 8.92 a game. It’s interesting to note that the 119th team was Texas Tech, which averaged 9.23 per game yet still went 9-4. Oklahoma (8-5) averaged 8.23 per game, 116th most. Utah (10-3) was 110th at 7.77.

Penalties do not always stymie success. They certainly don’t help, though.
