BOULDER -- Standout men's golfer Justin Bardgett (senior), women's golfer Emily Talley (sophomore) cross country runner Laura Tremblay (freshman) earned CU Athlete of the Week honors for the week of March 22-28. This is the second honor of the season for Bardgett and the second of his career; while both Talley and Tremblay garners this award for the first time in their respective careers.

Bardgett, a native of St. Louis, Mo. (Chaminade College Prep), led the Buffs to a pair of sixth place finishes during spring break, in the Oregon Duck Invitational in Eugene and in the Barona Collegiate Cup outside of San Diego. He tied for 16th in Oregon, turning in a 71-76-72--219 scorecard (3-over par). In the Barona Cup, he tied for 22nd with a 71-80-69--220 effort, but the real story there was on the final day. He closed with CU's best round of the tournament, shooting a 3-under 69, and led the Buffs with 12 birdies in the meet, seven in the final round, with six of those on the front nine. That performance came after Bardgett, who started on No. 9 with a birdie and was 2-under after five holes, bogeyed four straight holes (Nos. 15-18) before returning to the front nine. He promptly birdied Nos. 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7, giving him a 30 for the side, tying the school record for the lowest 9-hole score previously achieved by Steve Jones (1980 Arizona State Sun Devil-Thunderbird Classic) and John Nyuli (1989 Wyoming-Red Jacoby Invitational).
