Assistant Coach/Offensive line
Steve Marshall is a name that should be very familiar to Buff fans even those too young to recall the great McCartney teams. In 2001, as a member of Gary Barnett's staff, Coach Marshall helped to oversee an offense that literally ran over everything in front of it. Behind Victor Rogers and Andre Gurode, Chris Brown and Bobby Purify ran to CU's most successful season as a member of the Big-12 and eventually the Big-12 title. With his history at CU, Coach Marshall also brings back 31 years of coaching experience spread over 11 Division-1 programs and 6 NFL seasons.
Family Life:
Coach Marshall was born June 20, 1956, in Hartford, Conn., and graduated from Rockville High School in Vernon, Conn., where he lettered in football. He is married to the former Karin Ross, and his hobbies include racquetball and traveling.
Coaching Career:
Back before many members of AllBuffs were even alive and after graduating from Louisville Coach Marshall kicked his career off at Plymouth State as the offensive line coach. For the next 22 years he rose through the ranks of college football progressing from the likes of Plymouth and Murray State through the SEC, Big 12 and finally to The University of Colorado in 2001. After a very successful year for the Buffs, Steve made the jump to the pros for the next 6 seasons spending 4 years with the fledgling Houston Texans and two more with the Browns before returning to the college game with Cal.
