Gary Pinkel Drinky-drivey

Pinkel's probably picking up on the drinking as he thinks about the ass-rapage he's going to have to deal with in the SEC

Someone said he blew a .05 on the breathalyzer. That's not drunk. If I'd gotten caught every time I've been behind the wheel and would have blown a .05, I'd be in assrape prison right now.

seems like every season there is 1 or 2 coaches busted for this. How hard would that be to stand up in a team mtg after this scenario and call the kettle or pot black?

What I dont understand is with all the money coaches and professional athletes why they dont just call a cab? **** call a limo service if a cab is too low class. I dont know why you even risk it.

Because alcohol impairs your judgment. See also, Beer goggles.

dumbasses with egos? but I have always had the same question

.05 isn't drunk; these kind of arrests are a product of the politicization of alcohol legislation and little else.
ok so he doesnt get charged with DUI, he gets charged with DWI, either way I have never understood people that make that much money not being able to avoid this type of situation.

.05 is like a beer or two at dinner. Really weak.

.05, Really? Why is this even a story. What is wrong with this Police Officer. Rediculous! This country is getting its head so far up it's regulatory/overcriminalization ass. Man. Next thing you know a bunch of overprivileged Eastern/Left Coast Hippies are going to get pissed and start demanding more handouts. . . . oh, wait, nevermind.

I am getting a little insecure here. Do I sound like TBD? GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU WORLTHLESS KIDS!!!! I AM TRYING TO WATCH MATLOCK IN PEACE!

That's DBT.

I thought .08 was the legal limit..?

For a DUI yes the limit is .08 normally. It does vary from state to state.

You can get pulled over and issued a DWI for driving with above a certain level. I am not sure about that number though.

No jail time as far as I know, but it still carries a fine.

Had a friend who had two beers over an hour or so. Driving home he was getting on I-25 and crossed the solid white line too soon. A cop pullled him over. Gave him a breathalizer. Cop said, "If you are over 0.05, your going to jail." So they watched the breathalizer: 0.045, 0.047, 0.048, 0.049, 0.05....0.05....0.05. He looked at the cop and said, "You said OVER 0.05!" The cop made him call a friend to come get him.

At least he didn't go to jail. If Pinkel was really only at .05, this should be a non-issue, IMO.

Over .05 is legally impaired. The definition of that in the instruction is that your ability to drive is "....impaired to the slightest degree!!!" Driving under the influence is .08. It used to be 1.5!!!! The problem is that people handle alcohol so differently. I would suppose most of you tailgaters here are pretty good drinkers and can drive safely even at 1.0. For a 160 lb. man that's about three or four beers in an hour or more if the time is longer. It also depends on what is in your stomach. But there are so many serious accidents out there that the law is pretty hard on this. Personally I have always thought that there are really two considerations in a bad accident, the drinking and the driving. Often when someone is drunk and causes a bad accident, it is someone that would be just as likely to cause a bad accident sober. i. e. a bad, aggressive driver. But it is hard to legislate in this area.
