Our bigs cant play at the level we want them to. SHT is too slow to make an impact defensively, and dufault cant grab a rebound because he refuses to box out, as much as we miss Alec shot creation we miss him on the boards almost as much he was the only other player other than Dre to grab a traffic rebound.

Let's just make this the post game recap....

Here is the problem with this years team... they are who they were last year, without Higgins and Burks.

Nate is still Nate. I hate ****ing nate. He refused to take the shots and had 5 horrific unforced turnovers.

Roberson is still Roberson. Maybe someday he will be a legitimate offensive weapon, but his game is still one dimensional. I love the kid tho, he's a bad ass.

SHT is still SHT... I don't see any improvement from his frosh year.

Dufault is still Dufault, but he looks to be the most improved of the returning players.

And the frosh are still frosh. I am VERY excited for Dinwiddie and Ski tho. They are starting to look like they feel it a bit. Should be fun to watch their development over the course of the year under Boyle's coaching. But they play like frosh.

Basically, we have not come close to replacing our offensive production from last year, and we won't even get close unless the frosh start producing.

That said...

And Carlon Brown and Sabatino chen are awesome. And SHARPE needs to start taking nate's minutes, especially late in the game. Nate is useless in pressure, and Sharpe can shoot free throws again!

I really like playing small ball with Dufault at the 5 and Roberson at the 4 more than any line up with SHT. When Roberson is playing at the 3 he seems to sometimes gets sucked away from the boards. Dinwiddie showed his potential at the end of the game when he finally started driving and shooting, I think he could develop into one of our best offensive weapons.

Plenty of good guard play on this team. Unfortunately the bigs are just not capable of competing at a high level. Things will get better, but the new Pac 12 is a much better place to be than the old Big 12 with no bigs, because the game is more free flowing and guard oriented.

You guys will do better inside. You guys just played a team with 2 legit 7'0'' centers, and a juco all american banger at 4. Our post play is pretty strong. Don't let the loss get you guys down (I know its easier said than done) but you will upset a few teams in the Pac12 this year, and I still stick by my prediction you guys finish 5th or 6th in conference play.

What would it take to get you guys to trade us one of those legit 7 footers?

And we are missing a guy who could be one of our top 2 or 3 scorers and another guy that could be our best post player.

Don't think anyone is really taking the loss hard, pretty much reaffirmed what we already knew. This will be a different team once we get some cohesion developed + Adams and Cain on the court. It's often said, but this year's Buffs are truly a case in which catching us in November will be far different from February. I think everyone would be extremely happy if CU came out of this tournament 2-1, and we have a nice shot at accomplishing that. Playing tomorrow makes it pretty easy to forget about a loss quickly as well . I really want to beat Mark Turgeon tomorrow, that loss to aTm last year still pisses me off.

Roberson is not a guard

 Dude dribbles soooo high. He looked great driving to the hoop without the ball and having Nate feed him in our first game. He looks kinda ridiculous going 1 on 3 on a "fast break" today.

Our Defense was pretty great most of the day. Our team just can't score.

That said, I like our system. I like when they're dribble penetrating. It was cool to have like 15 FT attempts before they had their first. Love that aggressiveness. FT shooting is going to cost us a few games this year.

I honestly dont see any reason for Shannon to be on the floor. For defense? Put Ski in there. Just dont see what he brings to the table at all, just has not developed his game. I liked what i say from Chen, pure hustle and Tad is definitely gonna like that. Carlon is going to have to be the star of this team if he likes it or not. Not sure if he can embrace that role. Our bigs are soft as always. I like Dufault's shot, what, do you go on this European tour and develop a shot? I guess. All in all, i think we will be fine.

Dufault has always had a good shot, that was one of his strenghts comng out of HS, he has been playing out of position due to CU's lack of frontcourt depth..

I sense a little negativity...they played a team that I believe could be a Sweet 16 team very tough. If we make some smarter decisions, no reason we can't beat Maryland tomorrow
