Well the team played like s-it as usual.... but kind of curious about people thoughts on the uniforms/helmets. I for one LOVE the black helmets. I wouldn't mind seeing the gold traditional ones at home (with a blackout exception) and the black helmets and pants with white jersey one the road. I mean they got their asses handed to them last night but looked good doing it lol

Unis were awesome. The helmet flat out rocks! Best looking helmet in football. Period!

Team didn't play well enough to deserve the gold helmets.

Black helmets looked better with the road unis than at home.
Since UCLA has gold helmets, it was easier on the eyes to have the contrast.

I love the helmet both at home and on the road. It's too bad we play like **** in them. 1-2 record with the helmet and the one win was almost a loss as well.

**** this noise. The black was kinda cool, but our gold helmets are hands down the best helmets in college football (as long as the gold is right). Just because other Nike teams with sugar daddies put out a new helmet for every game doesn't mean we should. Our gold helmet is ****ing awesome and cannot be topped. FACT.

Keep the Gold helmets at all times, except for blackout, IMO.

Its all looked like **** for the last 5+ years, the only unis that look good is the ones they wear when they win

Time to move to different uniforms to allure big recruits.

1. What the **** are you talking about?

2. Allure? What the **** are you talking about?

3. Two weeks ago, I nearly wrote at thread complimenting you on what appeared to be cognitive improvement. I'm so glad I forgot.

Talking about going Oregon style.

Allure:
to attract or tempt by something flattering or desirable

17-18 year olds like Oregon's uniforms. We're recruiting 17-18 year olds.

Change to Oregon style uniforms
Kids like them
??????
Profit

Or maintain our traditional identity the way other teams have, while still recruiting successfully.

Let me put it to you this way. I grew up near Oregon, and I greq up as an Oregon fan. I'm not a fan anymore--despite their success. I don't want to do much the Oregon way, if we can help it.

I acknowledge that recruits like the Oregon uniforms, but there's more to it than just uniforms. Let's stay with our classic look. And, assuming that you'll thank me for this advice when you're thirty, you're welcome.

I'm well aware of what allure means. I thought your use--structure and context--was turrble.

In summary. Oregon's uniforms suck. Ours are awesome. It's about the only thing making me happy with this team right now.

Oregon has attracted so many new fans in the demographic that we are recruiting right now. Oregon doesn't care if 35 year olds like them, they care if 17-18 year olds like them. Our uniforms may be traditional but they're not on the same level of tradition as say Michigan, ND, Bama, USC, PSU, etc.

This isn't a matter of opinion. You're actually just wrong.

I didn't realize that Oregon's football success over the past few season was due to their silly looking uniforms. If that were the case, I am sure Maryland is soon to be a powerhouse.

Penn State obviously succeeded over the past decades and is highly ranked now because of the recruiting benefit they received from their modern eighteensy loving look they changed to a couple of years ago. Who da' thunk it.

The uniforms aren't the whole story but they are something that helped them. Penn State has more tradition than we do and have had the same jersey forever, we have not.

That black helmet is the ugliest ****ing thing I have ever seen. Looks like a pop warner helmet. If I ever see it again I will just turn off the TV and not watch the game.

I don't know how to explain this to, if you can't see. Oregon's uniforms look faddish and silly. Faddish and silly is a staple among teenagers, I realize, and I'm also aware that we have to attract teenagers to play. One thing Oregon doesn't have to attract is doners, since they already have the one they need. That's probably good, because most folks with money would scoff at the Oregon uniforms.

College football is great because of the tradition. Have you considered maybe abandoning college football for the NFL?

:bs:

Any 5* recruit that goes to a school because of those dumbass looking uniforms deserves to get rained on most days of the year. Mike Beloti might have had something to do with it. Not disagreeing that kids are stupid and they might think those things look good, but

nevermind... kids are stupid... end of argument.

I hate the NFL and love college too much. I hear what you're saying but couldn't winning attract donors? I would think that donors would overlook uniforms if we were winning. Idk I'm just willing to try anything to win.

It's pretty simple: Don't wear "swag unis" until you can do better than losing to mediocre teams by 40.

Yes! That was the missing element. We'd look even sillier in flashy uniforms, losing the way we are.

Tini's knee-jerk roadmap to success:
1) Blame schedule for lack of confidence and schedule the most pathetic opposition possible in the OOC.
2) blame uniforms for lack of recuiting interest and correct by competing with Oregon fashion design.
3) blame the seniors for losing and wish them good riddance.
4) claim that you are a diehard buff while ignoring tradition and discounting opinions of elder buff fans except for grandpa.
5) share allegiance with Iowa State, Michigan and Alabama
6) speak without thinking and without care of consequences of ensuing stupidity
7) mistake ability to reference stats for wisdom or intellegence or culture
8) take on victim complex as first line of defense
9) ignore and de-emphasize what happens outside of Colorado. Beating CSU and belittling little bro is the number one priority.
10) fail to appreciate 1 through 9 on any level.

You hit on 2, 4 and 6-10 with that response. Good job.

And how did I blame the uniforms on recruiting again in the last post? Also how did I play the victim? By saying that there must be a lot of ****** fans? Give me a break.
