I know it's hard to believe, but we'll be better next year.

How's this for a possible lineup:

QB: Wood
RB: T Jones (D Payne as the power back), could be even better if we get Wes Brown
WR: P-Rich, K Canty, J Thomas (G Thomas as the backup slot receiver)
TE: N Kasa or D Thornton
O-line (L to R): Bakhtiari, Asiata, Munyer, Harris, Nembot

D-line (L to R): Uzo Diribe, Bonsu, Parker
LBs: Rippy, Major (not looking good now, but hopefully better next year), Webb, Greer
DBs: Henderson, Polk, Washington, Harrington--I could see Bell starting too or Y Wright if we miraculously pick him up

Punt returner: G Thomas
Kick returners: G Thomas, J Ford (would love to get Alex Jackson to help return kicks)
Punter: O'neil
Kicker: Oliver

Plus, we should (and better) win all the OOC games. Unfortunately, I think we get both Oregon and USC on the road, but we should still be vastly improved.

I think I wrote a very similar thread at the end of the season last year, but it might of been the year before that. I forget, to be honest.

cheer up? for what? Buffs suck and nothing looking positive right now... Volleyball won 1 match in pac all season, basketball is starting off about like all CU's pathetic sports !! **** cheering up^

Two Buff teams are competing in the NCAA national championships tomorrow.

Exactly. That is what my eldest daughter told me last night when I said we would better next year.

my family will not go or watch the games with me anymore... always looked forward to games and my wife will sit there about the first qtr before getting up and saying "damn this **** again?" "I am going to read my book"... when I come to bed she then ask' " how bad did they get their ass kicked"

****ing sad !

Being better than our team is this year doesn't mean anything. We need to be better than other teams, not past ****** teams of ours.

OZ, I don't believe in world-beater running backs. I believe in D-Line-Beating O-Lines. When O-Lines block, even tired, old, always-slow John Riggins can look like an All-Star. When I constantly see defenders behind the line of scrimmage, I know this isn't the RB's fault. For O-Lines that can't learn to block, that's pure coaching. I'll be watching with interest next year.

So about 90% of next year's roster will be made up of players on this year's team...I agree, we'll be way better. 2 of the best players on that projected roster are in high school and are not committed to the Buffs and probably won't be coming here.

Connor Wood *might* be the difference between winning 2 games and winning 4-5. Other than that, I see the same bull**** next year as this. I'm sorry, I can't get excited about the prospect of Nick Kasa playing Tight End.

I cannot figure out why so many people seem to be comfortable about our RBs heading into next season. Also, that DL is scary, as are the DBs.

Is Connor wood better than hansen? Do we have a rb that can match speedy's production?

Will P-rich become a factor again? Do we have another wr and a TE to step up next season?

OL? DL? LB?

Many questions, bad caoching at certain positions, no size or speed...we'll see.

Honestly, there is a good chance we will be the worst AQ team in the country next year. We lose our best QB, our best RB, our best WR and a we have a staff that does less with bad talent. Recruiting is bottom of the Pac12. It's a death spiral and I don't know how we'll dig ourselves out.

The positives are that we're paying Embree nothing and we have Pac12 money coming in. If the admin ever gets some balls we should buy a big-time coach next go round. That's my hope. Or else hire McCartney.

Hansen is not our best QB. Our best QB is the one who can't play right now. Recruiting has guys who can play in a pro style offense and a 3-4 defense and we are still very much in it for some high level 4*'s.

We need BCS type of size, speed and talent. You either win and attract them to boulder or you recruit your ass off. CU at the present time is doing neither.

You can coach guys up, we see it every saturday, but cu is stuck with no depth and rarely do we see players reaching or maximizing their full potential anymore as freshman to seniors.

That lineup doesn't cheer me up, quite honestly. I agree that losing this group of seniors is one of the best things to ever happen (honestly, aside from the select view, do these guys even care?). Next year is going to be rough. We'll be a little better and benefit from an easier schedule, but anyone expecting beyond 4 wins - 5 at the very best - is delusional.

Oh, and recruiting isn't where it needs to be, either.

So what you're saying, no one out of our 85 players is familiar with a traditional offense and a defense that has lineman and linebackers?

Actually, that sounds about right.

Very few on this team were recruited for a pro style offense.
