OL Transfer Austin Bennett - might be worth a look

I got a heads up on Twitter about a 2nd year player at Mesa University, Austin Bennet.

He's an OL who played for Bear Creek. Since Mesa is going through a coaching change, he's supposedly able to get a full release and transfer without sitting out a year.

2010 Rivals Profile: http://rivals.yahoo.com/colorado/football/recruiting/player-Austin-Bennett-102210

He's listed at 6'3" and 280 lbs.

In high school, he was also a very good baseball player so he's a pretty athletic OL.

I couldn't find any film, so it's hard for me to have an opinion beyond saying that a veteran OL with good measurables and well-rounded athleticism should be worth a look. Does anyone know Austin or seen him play?

Why did he end up at Mesa instead of a higher division school?

Is he BCS quality as a player?

Would he be coming in on scholly or as a PWO?

His profile on the CMU site says he ended up at CMU because "it was the right fit". Obviously a man of outstanding taste. :smile2:

Haven't seen him play, so I'll refrain on the rest...

He is not all-conference or anything so I would not think he would be a candidate for the buffs. It is several levels between the RMAC and the PAC-12, you better be tearing it up at that level before you could even be considered at a BCS level school.
