"I got an offer from Colorado," Abron said. "I talked to coach [Eric] Bieniemy this afternoon and he told me I had an offer and I was so excited. It's such an honor and I was kind of at a loss for words. To have a coach like EB recognize my talent with his playing and coaching background was amazing."

....

"I want to take all my official visits and I'll be visiting Colorado for sure," Abron said.

Jeez that was a long highlight video. He reminds of Catalon, real fast, shifty, good balance, bowling ball type thing going on.

Good call. Looks almost identical in terms of build and long speed. BJ might be a smidge faster but I think Abron has very good HB instincts and still has the home run capability. This guy would be a good pickup. It would be hard to not love a big back/speed back combo of Terrence Crowder and Abron. Both have skills despite their offer list.

Visiting this weekend (12/9).

He's short, but he's thick. Good power and great feet. Runs a lot more like Ray Rice, MJD or EB than he does Rodney Stewart.

EB must have seen some of his own high school self in this young man since the goal is to recruit larger backs now. I'll trust his judgment on this. Also, this new staff is going strong in the Inland Empire. Love to see that.

Finally watched the vids. Love this kid. He has an extra gear at the 2d level. It takes a second or 2 to kick in, but he beat some kids that had great angles on him by throwing it up a notch. Also, really like his vision.

Shifty, low to the ground and powerful. I. Want. He'll have to learn to not dance around so much, but seems to have good instincts. Could be a real nice addition.

We have two RB commits and are still in play. While this kid seems legit can we really afford to take 4 RB this cycle? I'd really like to see some other holes in recruiting taken care of... OL anyone?

I want this kid. Coaches want him too, and are willing to take him even if brown commits. EB and JE are seeing something in him.

We'll take 2 more OLs. That's plenty. Irwin, Kough, Kelley (grayshirted last year) plus two more. I actually think 5 is too many for a class, so I'd be pretty happy if we signed Alexandru Ceachir from the juco ranks.

We have room for 4 RBs only because of Creer and Crowder coming off knee injuries.

Also cause Donta has the best film out of any RB committed to us that I've watched since Speedy. I called Speedy being a star, and I will do the same for Donta. Hope to hell he commits.

Darrin Chiaverini is the offensive coordinator at Riverside Community College. I believe he as at CU when Embree and Bienemy were on Barnett's staff and he was a special teams assistant at UCLA when Embree and Bienemy were there too. I would be suprised if Chiav isn't talking to them about kids in the Inland Empire.

I like the film, but the question is, what kind of competition is he playing against?

Inland Empire. Good football. MaxPreps ranked Upland #11 in California and #57 in the nation despite losing in the semi-final round of the Inland playoffs.
