Tall WR out of the Dallas area who is starting to get a lot of attention. He has good speed too as he has run AAU track for several years too. Really garnered a lot of attention with a strong junior season (41 catches, 666 yards, 6 TDs).

He has two teammates Kameron Miles (safety) and Dimarya Mixon (defensive end) are also getting looks from several schools as well.

Put 30 lbs on him and he'd be a freak of a tight end.

You don't do a thing with this kid. :smile2:

Elite WR prospect. Perfect frame, long arms and huge hands.

Great relationship with Bobby Kennedy. We may actually have a shot here.

I'll trust you guys. I like tight ends. They can really change the game if they're properly utilized. Shannon Sharpe revolutionized the position. To my untrained eye, this kid looks a lot like a young Shannon Sharpe.

Yeah true, Shannon was a different type of TE tho. He was a matchup nightmare really. Too big and physical for a corner, too fast for a lb or safety. That and the dude looked like the Hulk=problems. Shannon wasnt the first wr/te but he took it up a notch. Winslow and Keith Jackson were in the same mold.

If it helps, think of him as Sterling Sharpe. :smile2:

247 Sports has an update on him today. He seems pretty open and will be taking visits to some junior days in the coming weeks, including Baylor at the end of this month. Really hope Kennedy can get Massington to Boulder this spring.

Seems to be taking his time with the process. Michigan and Notre Dame offering recently seems to have been pretty big for him.

He did mention we are recruiting him hard in a recent interview with Scout so we must be making some sort of impression.

2013 Top247 WR Eldridge Massington (West Mesquite, TX) just won district 100-meters at 10.66. Blazing for 6-foot-3, 203

we aren't recruiting newby anymore. grades, apparently.

I think we're still looking at Newby, at least according to Adam at rivals. It sounds like grades are a concern though.

Anyway, with this being a Massington thread, go to work BK!!! This kid is the type of impact WR we need in this class!

Man, Newby has the potential to be the next Richardson. That anger he runs with is astonishing. But this WR is a MUST GET.

Qualified for the state meet in both the 100 and 4x100 over the weekend. Went 10.61 in the 100. Texas and USC are supposed to be stopping by his school this week.

He picked up the USC offer he wanted today. Didn't commit, but it looks like that's the way the wind's blowing.

Poster over on Orangebloods saying he has picked up an Oklahoma offer as well.

My guess is he commits to USC fairly soon, but he did casually mention us in an update yesterday:

http://colorado.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1361926

So far, 22 schools have verbally offered the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder. Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Nebraska are his new offers.

Several of them stick out.

"Notre Dame, USC, Clemson, Michigan, Baylor, Colorado, Miami, LSU, Oklahoma State and Tennessee," Massington listed.

Well that didn't take long...committed to USC per Damon Sayles from ESPN. Those sanctions are really crushing them...

That damned 'WeAreSC' ESPN site is suggesting that USC will only take 1 or 2 WRs in their class of 15.

According to nik's sitcky thread, there has only been 1 WR commit to the PAC-12 before this (Sammy Long to Wash). I think a lot of the top 4* on the west coast were waiting and hoping for a USC offer. I expect we'll see a bunch of chips start to fall at the WR position now.
