I'm pissed

me too Nik. However, we are not a good shooting team. and despite your stat qualification the other day to the contrary.....missing FT's means you aren't a good shooting team really. that's why it's disturbing. not because i can shoot about 85% myself and lob unfair bombs at the team from the armchair but more that those are possessions where you aren't getting points when you should be. when, since forever, we can't guard anyone in the post....late in a game if you can't convert from the stripe and can't stop the other guy in the post/lane (compounded that with no post presence we are in foul trouble and other team in the double bonus almost always)....you are gonna lose when the game is in the balance. That's the Bzdelik era in a nutshell. last year, we get lucky with Higgins and Burks because those guys can create their own shot in situations....our MO late in games the last 6-7 years is teams get easy buckets in the last 5 minutes of games because we can't foul, we can't hit the glass since we don't have bodies and the ones we do have are in foul trouble....missing FT's makes this an impossible formula for W's against good teams.

Boyle's recruiting>>>Bzdelik's. Minus Burks and Higgins of course. Sharpe, SHT are just baaaad

This game hurts. The others can be explained, but there really isn't an excuse for losing at home to Wyoming. None.

This is just Colorado Basketball as it has been. Tad really hasn't accomplished anything yet. I still think he is a good coach, but so far this season, I am seeing the same crap as I've always seen.

there is no experience no scoring and no bigs on this team right now... tunks needs to be firmly stapled or super glued to a chair... how he keeps his feet ****ing planted to the ground i have no idea... he cant rebound he doesnt drive the lane... he tries to be a finesse player when he should power the ball to the hoop... that said, last night was on tad... his rotation was poor the team seemed unprepared and i havent seen any fast break offense

This is a young team that lost 75% or so of their firepower. Boyle is an excellent recruiter and coach, but it's going to take probably two more seasons before these guys and the next class begin to make their mark. Relax.

where i'm at. if we make the NIT, i'm cool. this is not a complete team. contrary to other poster's opinions, i don't think Jeff Bzdelik prepped us for greatness. international players, being just one example. aussie players might be great for Metro, but no one has built a real program on international players. aussie, whatever.

you might get a role player here and there....but, no way to not excuse that you can't build it here.

There's still no excuse for not running and offense and not breaking a zone, that's on coaching.

So it turns out Adams shot in shoot around looks a whole lot better than in games. When his feet are planted and he is lined up, he is one of the best shooters on our team. The problem is his feet are never planted in games and he sure as hell isn't lined up with the basket. Quite the disappointment.

Wow, what a difference one game makes.

I don't remember the Patton era but that's crazy that there was less of an offensive system then than there is now.

This is an amazing offensive system compared to Patton. Patton was one step up from Intramurals as far as an offensive system is conserned, probably the most frustrating thing to watch ever. Patton was just lucky he was a really good recruiter and had enough talent on his teams he didnt always get embarrased. It kills me to think of what a real coach could do with the teams he had.

I am being overly optimistic, but many of us are quick to forget that last year early in the year we lost to USF and Harvard. Given they were both on the road, but these losses are quite frankly embarrassing. Despite those wins, we went on to have one of the most successful seasons in recent memory. I don't think any of us are expecting a NCAA Tournament team, but I think with how young we are and losing as much players as we did from last years team, it is going to take time for us to gel as a team. Once that happens, I believe we have a low seeded NIT team on our hands with a contending team next year with that fantastic recruiting class.

I believe the Buffs would need 18 wins to get into the NIT, given how weak the schedule is. Not impossible at this point, but the loss last night might have been the nail in the coffin. NIT is a whole lot tougher to get into these days than it used to be 5 years ago

Pac 12 is weak so if we don't lose another non conference game and go 10-8 in conference play (which I think is more than doable) we end the year at 18-12 going into conference play. I still think this is a 20 win team because the Pac 12 is SOOOO bad.

Tomlinson, Dufault, and Brown need to step it up. When the Buffs cut it to 5 last night, all three were on the bench and the young kids outplayed them big time.

This team is still very selfish....5 assist will not cut it.

We were saying the same thing last year after the USF loss. But we will just have to see.

I well remember the Patton era. His poor coaching was the reason I gave up my men's season tickets. He had some talented players but did not have a clue as to how to coach them. I felt bad for the players. They deserved better.

I felt like he was more a babysitter, kept all the players more or less in line, but looking back at it, I think it was the leadership on the floor that allowed his good teams to be as good as they were (as well as they had a lot of talent). Almost the polar opposite from the team now (other than I think we are getting talented players again).

I don't remember hearing of much scandal by the players during the Patton era. I remember him making the players sleep on the Events Center floor. I agree that some of the players took on the leadership roles or they wouldn't have won as many games as they managed to win.

It wasn't scandal. It was a complete failure in academics right as the APR was instituted. The APR showed how bad it had gotten and forced Bzdelik to recruit a number of guys who were maybe more student than athlete to get the thing fixed.

One of Patton's biggest sucesses is probably that there wasnt a scandal.

Getting a group of college guys together who have little interest in doing school is a recipe for bad things to happen, and nothing did happen under Patton.

I did know that Patton's players didn't get decent grades and which caused problems with the APR for men's basketball.
