DBT thinks a recruit thread is a good place for random observations

Just got caught up on this thread. Whatever happens happens. The way I look at it, it's up to the staff to do a good job recruiting. They need to sell the school and the program.

:lol: I've followed CU recruiting since about 1980. I've seen it all. That is not to say that I don't get upset when we don't land a guy or an in state star goes elsewhere. I'm putting a lot of faith in Embree's and Bienemy's reputation as great recruiters.

Right, :lol: I will say that before the Internet, Rivals and all that, I used to really follow CU's recruiting. I'd listen to guys like John Regal. I stopped following as much when the sites became pay sites. I kind of have a fundamental problem with pay sites and how recruiting has become so over hyped.
 
Otherwise known as having some principles, Rodrigo. And it doesn't get much more unprincipled than calling other noble Buff supporters names. If you like name-calling why not visit the cornhuskers site?

No he hasn't so let's cut him some slack too. This site is actually quite good because people say what's on their mind and also like to dig at others in a sarcastic way which can be seen as offensive and over the top to newbies. I am pretty new and I have only recently started feeling comfortable dishing and receiving from all you ***holes :rofl:

This is what I don't like about them. First, the guys on those sites are way over the top in how the continually harass the recruits. They do it because of the money they get. Second, they use their status as "journalists" to, in many cases, circumvent NCAA rules. You cannot tell me that a, say, Rivals site associated with a particular school does not try to influence kids toward their school and/or away from a rival school. I'm not saying all do. But I'd bet some do.

You definitely have a point with this one. I am just trying out a few of the pay sites and it is obvious they do pester the recruits all to be the first to get a scoop. This is of course quite like the Paparazzi. I must say I love having the news before others but then I want to come and share it with ABers which I can't do. I was prepared to pay to subscribe to the site I liked best but I am leaning against it now. I can wait 24 hours to find out that a recruit's mother's brother says he liked his time and didn't mind the cold.

Since we're getting all comfy and sharing, I'm gonna tell you something. I ****ing hate your Heisman thread/poll. A lot. Also, I think you need to break your posts into more paragraphs so they're less cumbersome to read. Or not...it doesn't matter since I disagree with nearly everything you say anyway.
