Have confirmed that Darius White and Taylor Bible are no longer in the #Longhorn football program. Both big-time recruits coming in.

Geoff owns Orangebloods.com, so this is legit.

WR Darius White
DT Taylor Bible

Both White and Bible were 4*s in the 2010 class and were recruited by Kennedy.

They'd have to sit out 2012 and then have 2 years to play starting in 2013 (same as 4* RB Traylon Shead, the other UT transfer from that class we're going after). QB Connor Wood was also part of that 2010 UT class and he's already in Boulder and eligible to play in 2012 - in case anyone has been in a drunken stupor since the Hawaii game and missed the news.

Given the success that Toney Clemons had under Kennedy and this staff after things hadn't been working out for him as a hyped 4* before and after his transfer, CU may have some chops as a destination place where a guy can thrive as a 2nd chance.

So, should we go after them and gear up for a chance at a big 2013? It would also make our practices and, therefore, team a lot better in 2012 even though these guys wouldn't be allowed to play in games.

Definitely yes. the more 4, 5 star kids, the better, even if they can only play scout team this year

What are the circumstances of their departures from UT? Dismissed from team for grades/rules violations, poor performance, injuries? Or, like Wood and Shead, just looking for a fair shot at playing time?

I haven't heard anything other than the same old "not living up to expectations" out of UT and that they're buried on the depth chart.

Got to remember, the DC (Muschamp), OC (Davis) and recruiting coordinator (Kennedy) these guys committed to are no longer there.

Absolutely and without hesitation. Upgrading talent is never a bad thing.

I like using Texas as a junior college.
That is hilarious and a way better way to look at it than us being the default option to rejected Texas players.

If those two are not having problems with grades or got into trouble of some kind I would say hell ya let's get them here. We have all heard how Wood tore it up on the scout team last year and is considered a likely starter next year. Could be the same with them in 2 very key position areas. Rivals compared White with A.J. Green. Can you imagine having PRich and an AJ Green type player on the field receiving balls from Wood and in a few years Dillon?

Comments from a friend of mine who follows UT football religiously:

Darius White ... a LOT of potential, but apparently kind of a headcase with motivation issues. Off the top of my head, Bible came in with a ton of potential and kind of ate himself out of the position (probably due in no small part that our previous Mack Brown crownie S&T guy wasn't doing anything other than collecting a paycheck). Essentially, he was a great one-tech sort of DT who couldn't play more than a down or two in a row, so he didn't get to play all that much. Then this year I think he started to get himself back on track, but fell behind other guys who stayed in shape. That's just off the top of my head though.

Adding those two would definately put CU in contention for winning the title as the university most likely to hit Longhorn sloppy seconds.

I'd like to say a certain Allbuffs poster is most likely to hit Longhorn sloppy seconds, but we all know that's not true.

Funny to think that the previous Mack Brown S&T crony was our S&T guy during the 1990 national championship year. I guess you can resist evolution over a few decades in the game. I like the idea of their castoffs coming here now that it's out of conference and we aspire to be first the up-and-comer and then a major player on the West Coast. If they're qualifying and staying academically eligible at UT they're safer coming here than a juco.

Orangebloods says that White is all but an aTm lock. Also the consensus around there was that Bible has all the tools to be great, but he has some serious issues with controlling his weight. They think that he will go the juco route. Granted this is a UT website (so they probably wouldn't say nice things about transferors), but it seemed like they were all ecstatic that they were getting two more scholarship spots. The consensus when Shead left was that they were losing a stud, but understood his reasoning. I think it speaks for itself that they are relieved that these 2 are leaving...
