Stadium Journey - Folsom Field

Fair, accurate and positive. His criticisms were also a spot on match with some of the stuff we've been calling for with facility upgrades.

I thought we would have been dinged more for our student section showing up mid-way through the 2nd quarter.

Flatirons is a bit of a stretch as far as the "neighborhood" and it's definitely not walking distance, but overall a pretty positive assessment.

Can't argue with any of that, except he should have stopped by our tailgate. That would have added a couple of points to the score. I wonder if he took much time to walk around the tailgating spots. I'm admitedly very biased, but I think the tailgating experience at CU is one of the best in the country.

Curious. How many tailgate experience have you had at other schools? This could probably be its own thread.

Other schools tailgate harder and have more fans doing it... but I'm not sure it is better. The setting sort of rocks where we get to party.

keep in mind Franklin field was closed for that game.

While I believe the tailgating at Cu is a cool and unique experience, my wife who is an UGA grad was very confused as to where everyone was. She has enjoyed the tailgates we have attended but thinks it is very small compared to sec. I spent a few years at auburn and would agree. CU is more scenic and a great time, but there are places like the SEC where you cannot step five feet and be in a tailgate (and be invited for a beer). I will never forget walking out of my dorms on a Tuesday freshman year in Auburn and having an RV right next to the stairs.

Tailgating at CU is unique, though. We don't try to be like Ole Miss or UGA or anybody else for that matter. We don't have one main tailgating spot. We have 15 or so lots spread out all over campus. So no, we don't get the huge numbers because we don't have any places that will allow for it. That's totally OK, though. We're different, but not worse.

You have a beautiful stadium and Pearl Street rocked. Folsom was a great place to shout:

You know the story...you tell the whole damn world this is Bear Territory..."

I know you all heard that as you were leaving even with only our straw hat band being there

Just looked at CSU's review which was written by the same guy. Turns out that guy is a CSU grad

from CSU:

Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium drips of history, even when just saying the name of the stadium aloud.

then the very next line:

Originally Hughes Stadium, which opened in 1968

that is quite the history. Some people have cars older than that stadium.

It's in great shape these days, though....

Same guy gave Moby Arena a 3.4

I have never been to Moby, but the keg is pretty bad, the crowd can be awesome at times though, depending on the game. Mizzou last year and Texas last year = chills.

why can't all opposing fans be as cool as you.

Most of them are cooler, actually. It's just really easy to look cool when surrounded by a bunch of fuskers and a canned duck....

Most of us suck. That's a fact. I like CU. My best friend from Cal went to CU grad school blah blah....wasted commentary deleted
