CU to hire Alcohol Agent -- Good work if you can get it

What a waste of money - what we really need is to hire a graphics artist for $700,000 to update our logo. On the other hand, if this will bring beer back to Folsom - it's money well spent.

And on top of that the consultant didn't change anything. I would have done it for half that. Pathetic for admin that cries about state funding at every turn.

who needs an agent to buy them their demon alcohol? go direct for chrissakes.

Take this seriously - this is to screw over tailgating. The first game at Folsom this year there were agents from the State Department of Revenue, liquor enforcement along with Sheriff deputies at tailgating areas early to shut down drinking at the tailgates...there was a huge and immediately backlash and they relented... A lot of fans claimed the State and Sheriff had over reacted...Absolutely not so. The agents and deputies were invited in by the AD and had a briefing in the morning with the AD before enforcement actions....when big donors started calling the AD things changed quick. But I do not think that Bohn is giving up.

If there really a threat of dry tailgates on campus? I don't mean to get ahead if the facts, what is the driver for the new position?

Is this about CU's insurance premiums and risk management strategy? Is their a clear and present legal threat involving underage drinkers getting into trouble that might result in some increased expenses for the university?

Is this about crackdowns by state and local law enforcement? In the down economy, is a reduction in tax funding causing authorities to look at enforcing liquor laws in a tailgate environment as a potential new revenue stream?

Does someone think less security is required on a dry campus?

Or is this hire about CU further restricting BYO booze at the tailgate so they can expand the sale if it themselves for a profit?

The cops at Sackygate said that a student had died at CU from drinking the week prior to the game. They had been told to confiscate all the alcohol by the AD, and that everyone should have received 'an email' detailing all of it. The lady cop who was harassing us said multiple times that we were 'setting a bad example' and needed to be careful 'what we were showing these kids' because of all the dorms around.

Drying out the tailgates would be an epic disaster for CU football

The full retardation is retarded. There is no ounce of logic in that argument whatsoever.

they aren't going to outlaw tailgating. i have absolutely zero inside info but i cannot imagine ANY ad is that stupid. they may try to set some rules--- like, where the tailgates with alcohol may be held. and they may go around and try to make sure that minors aren't drinking, but there is no effing way they are going to tell the base of their season ticket holders to get ****ed. that makes no sense.

key feature is that the AD is the one making the "bad example" busts. not CU (i mean, f*ck, i've been to enough CU thing where people are blotto on cheap wine to see THAT hypocrisy). this is more perception management.

now, i don't like all you guys whizzing in my yard but CU fans have been drinking near the dorms for decades...i doubt that's the actual cause of the corruption of the young (who are already sleeping it off, probably).

They told us we could tailgate, but we couldn't drink. Then, once a CUPD (these were Boulder sherrif) came by and told them to stop, they came back over and carded Snow's then girlfriend. It was amusing

I didn't think you could get a driver's license until she was 16?

Was kinda hot.

Yeah, don't mention that if she's ever arresting you. They don't take kindly, it turns out.

Could I mention it prior to being arrested? I mean, might it help a little if, as she's telling us about how we're all setting a bad example and we should have gotten an e-mail, that I let it slip that I'd like to see her naked?

That's uncharted territory for me. I didn't really get a good look at mine until after the handcuffs were on. The whole thing was rather exciting, quite frankly.

How do you open that up? "I didn't know heaven had bitchy cops?"

How would GiA handle it?

"so, after i make bail and change out of my wife-beater t-shirt, would you like to maybe grab a cappucino or something? i mean, after you are off-duty or whatever."
