Mystery FCS team on 2013 schedule revealed!

Great. We need W's in a bad way. I'm happy that we aren't scheduling Ohio State, FSU or another top program. Those games will be great once we've started playing at a high level.

So our 2014 schedule should include Bama, and Wisconsin right?

I hope so!! 2012 might be rough with so much turn over and not much talent left by Hawkins' poor recruiting. Our team will be very young the next couple years. But 2014 should hopefully be a good year with last years class becoming seniors. Jeez, I hope so... I can't take much more of the losing.

I live in Boise and even I think UCA's turf is ridiculous.

I am okay with playing a FCS team in 2012 and 2013. The games better not be close.

Would be nice to finish out the 2014 schedule with a BCS conference team though (already have CSU in Denver and Hawaii in Boulder).

Getting mangled by superior teams OOC while we are in a transition period makes us real men, right?!? Right?

Oh yeah? Did they say we're supposed to win them all?? Get real.
Well we have a much better chance of heading into conference play 3-0 with a schedule like 2012 or 2013 rather than previous schedules, especially during rebuilding. We went 2-9 against FSU, tO$U, Cal, ASU, UGA, WVU, etc since 2006. Not a winning formula.

i'm sure this game will sell out.

oh well. i get it. i understand it. but, i don't have to like it on a gut level.

Seeing that our OOC schedule is already filled for the next two seasons and if we're still in a "transition period" by the time we can actually play BCS teams again, I will be severely disappointed.

See my above reply to buffs04. We better be done rebuilding by the time we can play BCS teams again for OOC.

Exactly. Play the big boys and don't pad the schedule.
Yeah we've played the big boys in our OOC and have gone 2-9 against them in that span with one of them being over a 6-7 Georgia team minus AJ Green for a half. I'd rather play a easy OOC, head into conference play 3-0, go to a bowl game, help out the coaches and recruiting than go 2-9.

this is where the program is right now. taking a one and done as a patsie at ohio state last year. and now scheduling teams that our 3rd string would have annihilated a few years ago.

i don't like it. i will hold my nose and objectively understand it. and i will hope someday soon we are back where we used to be. anyone. any place. any time.

Correct. There should be no issue playing a good BCS team in 2014.

Yes I agree. We should be at a level again by 2014 where we can schedule a BCS team in OOC but it needs to be an area where we recruit (so back east, maybe Rutgers or another Big lEast team) and only one game since we play nine BCS teams with the Pac 12 schedule.

We already will be playing the big boys 10 of our 12 games and the 11th against a rival that wants nothing more than to beat us as their only seasonal goal. Adding 1 whole "cupcake" is absolutely acceptable.

You probably also probably believe in moral victories.

Nope not at all. This isn't the 90's. We don't need to pad our schedule with tough OOC games every year. We play nine conference games plus CSU. We need a week or two where we don't play a BCS team. I'm fine with a marque OOC game every few years but we don't need to revert to the 90's scheduling.

Im cool with it but I like the idea of playing a good BCS team in 2014. It doesnt have to be Bama or some ****. How bout like a Virginia, Rutgers, Miss St, or somebody along those lines? Id like to get Notre Dame on there but thats me.

I'd like to play a game back east where we recruit from so Virginia or Rutgers would be a good choice.
