Some speculation UW may be looking at another Cal assistant for its final spot on offense: Eric Kiesau

That would be interesting.

Usually a very bad sign for a head coach when his assistants start making lateral moves to other schools. Same thing happened to Danny boy when Grimes moved to Auburn and Helfrich moved to Oregon.

In this case, I'm hoping that Kiesau lands in a good spot for himself. He's one of the good guys. We had to move on and he needed to go, but I never had any hard feelings.

how can cal be recruiting like they are while at the same time the wheels appear to be flying off the tracks?

it really is a strange world.

It is time for Colorado coaches to start poaching some of those recruits.

Those same wheels might start coming off with their class, it depends on the reason they committed to Cal. They stay if they committed solely because of the school, they probably leave if they committed because of who recruited them.

Agreed. I always liked Kiesau and have always wondered how much better he and Helfrich might have been as OCs if DH didn't have his grubby little finger prints all over their offenses. I hope Kiesau does well wherever he is and think that he will make a good HC some day.

Not sure how much of a hand Kies had in sculpting the offense for the Holiday Bowl but it was abysmal. I was hoping during that game for a moment when it clicked (or "popped") and I came to the realization that he had been shackled by his former boss all along. No such moment. I think he has quite a bit of growing to do as a coach but as a recruiter Washington got another monster grab. Wish him luck in his own division.

POACH, EMBREE, DOWN THE PAC! POACH! POACH! POACHPOACHPOACH!

Poach! Poach!

Good idea.....
