A little insight into recruiting (Arik Armstead)

This gives you a bit of an idea of what these last frantic days are like for both coaches and recruits. One of the things stuck out to me was Kelly's honesty when asked about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers saga:

"He's very witty. I had a good meeting with him. He changed my perspective on Oregon a little more. I asked him about the Tampa Bay Bucs job (that he nearly accepted last weekend). He told me he couldn't guarantee me that he'd be at Oregon my entire career if I went there, but that's ok, because I understand it's part of the job, and when you're successful, other teams will want you as a coach. I'd rather have that than play for a coach who isn't as successful."

Gus Armstead mentioned #Oregon, along with #UCLA were the only 2 schools who didn't neg recruit and that impressed them, fwiw

Always interesting to me how different schools approach each individual kid in recruiting.

Ahh. Thats kind of what I'd hoped. I just saw us as one who offered. I keep seing his thread so assume we are talking to him. Kind of like me and Gail Hunter. She never knew I existed either.
