Chauncey Billups

That totally sucks. Got burned terribly at the final phase of his career because of Melo. Pretty sad end if true.

Achilles take a long time to come back from and Chauncey doesn't have a long time. At this point I hope that he can get he can recover from it well enough that it doesn't bother him the rest of his life. Chauncey loves the game enough that he will likely be one of those guys out there in the rec center at 50 showing the young guys how it is done if he can.

This also is huge for the Clippers. They are very talented but I got the impression that Chauncey was the glue that held that team together. As was much of his career his contribution was much bigger that what showed on the stat sheets.

Sucks to hear. Chauncey had a very nice career in the NBA, though. 14 years in the NBA is no small accomplishment.

Bummer, hate to see bad things happen to good Buffs. From having watched a few people go through Achilles rehabilitation I know it is a long process, but pretty successful in the long term. Hopefully Chauncey will not have lasting impact. I would imagine that he will find some way to continue to be an ambassador for the game, the Denver community and the Buffs in whatever his future holds.

I have read that he has a deal to work in the front office for the Nuggs when his career is over. Could see him eventually be a GM somewhere.

Damn, sucks for him. Best of luck in his recovery, he told Yahoo Sports he isn't done so we'll see.

Clippers were rumored to sign JR Smith before, but after this he's probably going there now as they waived someone today.

I think it is possible, but remember how much Jr and KMart hate eachother. #aprilfoolsgonewrong

Chris Paul.
Toughest day to date for me as an NBA player losing the best backcourt mate I've ever played with, my big bro, and gr8 teammate C. Billups...I know they say everything happens for a reason but I'm having a hard time understanding this one...what he did for our team is immeasurable...Its not ideal but for the time being I'll have to settle for my son running around the house yelling "CHAUNCEY B-B-BILLUPS for 3!!!" Plz keep him and his family in your prayers, LOVE that guy!

He may be confused that you don't die after tearing your achilles. But very thoughtful regardless.

I'll say this, no matter where Chauncy goes, his teamates always love him. Great ambassador for CU.

Dadburnit!

Chauncey. Give a comeback your best shot. But when the end comes, consider talking to Tad and your bro before making a further career decision.

Has CB completed his undergrad degree? I believe it's an NCAA requirement that coaches and assistants have to have at least a bachelors degree.

Perhaps he could work on that in the year (at least) he'll have to sit out.

Hmm. Not sure. He left after his soph year, so unlikely that he's taken enough classes to earn a degree. Dadburnit!

Some crap school in Detroit should award him an honorarry degree.

Fine by me. Last thing I want is to be watching a basketball game and be interrupted by a "My name is Chauncey Billups and I am a Phoenix" commercial.
