Birse will be getting his chance to shine as a senior after backing up elite QB Zach Kline in 2011. He has made a name for himself at camps, but colleges may wait for him to prove himself in games before extending offers.

UCLA was his dream school, but they already have a QB commit for the 2013 class:

Colorado is showing the most interest and he said Vanderbilt, Duke, Northwestern and others are involved as well. UCLA had been talking a lot with Birse but that has slowed down since the Bruins received a commitment from 2013 quarterback Eddie Printz.

Hmm. Not sure what to think based on the tape. Is that tape showing him during garbage time? Sounds like a big risk basing everything off of his SR season.

BB, do you think we would offer a kid like this with what's going to be a very small class next season? Just curious to hear your thoughts.

I think Birse is a definite Plan B or Plan C type kid unless he comes to our camp and blows the coaches away in person.

I hope he lights it up. I think he showed a ton of maturity by not bailing out because of who was in front of him. I know it sounds crazy, or something somebody on crack would say:smile2:, but I think things will turn out fine for him.

Tough call. If we are the hardest after him, seems like Rip has decided it is worth the risk.

Another Elite 11 regional invitee who mysteriously doesn't have offers.
