Since CU has no baseball, which Pac-12 baseball team would you adopt as your team?

This is just for the fun of it. Suppose we had to choose a Pac-12 baseball team to root for...who would it be?

I've always kind of liked UCLA ever since I was a kid. Slick Rick being there kind of changed that a little but now that he's gone I'm back to liking them again.

Not many cold weather states in there. I don't see how we would be able to compete at a high level. Seems like $$ better spent elsewhere iyam

baseball is one sport where I prefer the professional version, and don't really care for the collegiate version.

Neither do I. But I could if CU had a program.

I don't think I would. I think it would be on my radar about as much as things like women's basketball, skiing, track, tennis, etc. It'd be cool if we won, but in reality, I don't really care much.

+1. I also think that there is enough of a baseball following in this state that CU would gain fans almost instantly. While baseball is an expensive sport to add, I think we could get a decent offset from attendance, concessions, etc. as CU's on field product matures. However, it would be a long term investment that requires fiscal patience.

I would rather cheer for every single one of those teams over any of the Big 12 teams.

The NCAA Tournament for college baseball is tons of fun -- last year I was at UVA vs. UC-Irvine, playing to advance to the College World Series. UVA was down 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th, with 2 outs, 2 strikes. UVA got a hit and loaded up the bases, and then the next guy hit a walkoff base hit single up the middle, causing two runs to score and a 3-2 win for UVA and a ticket to Omaha. I went in skeptical, but it more than won me over. It was ****ing mayhem.

Oh, and **** the rest of the Pac-12.

The CWS is a great event and was by far my favorite tournament trip m team would play in, even if I had to deal with the NUbs insulting CU but the tailgating with the LSU and other southern teams was great.

I'm not sure if Colorado has the talent to support a D1 team yet but the support would be there for sure but I don't see baseball being added for quite some time.

Omaha sucks. I've been through there many times. There's the Henry Doorley Zoo, the CWS, Old Market and that's it.

Omaha does suck. I went out in the bars in that downtown warehouse district though and they were fun and they had some decent bands. Otherwise, it's a pit and a ****hole.

Well the only times I've been there was for a CWS baseball tournament so it's a small sample size but it's always been a good time.

What 'tini's saying is that Omaha does a good job with the CWS, and he's right. I've had wine and cheese types from UVA, UNC and Cal all rave to me about their experience at the CWS. They just built TD Ameritrade Park, which by all accounts is an excellent venue.

I haven't had a chance to go tithe new stadium yet but you hit the nail on the head. Would I live there willingly? Hell no. But is it a nice place to relax and watch some good college baseball and tailgate? You bet ya. Those LSU people there were fantastic and the food was even better.

Utah, Minnesota, BYU, Pittsburgh, Boston College, UConn, Nebraska, Indiana, Penn State, Creighton, Gonzaga, Kansas, Wichita State, Maryland, Illinois, Purdue, Eastern Michigan, St. John's, Ohio State, West Virginia, Maine, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, South Dakota State, North Dakota State, North Dakota, Rutgers, Harvard, Yale, Northern Illinois, Buffalo, Iowa, Northwestern, Michigan, Air Force and Northern Colorado all have baseball teams. The PAC-NW schools aren't exactly bastions of warmth, either.

CU would spend the first 2-3 weeks playing games in CA, TX or AZ. Tons of teams do the same thing.
