CU's Brenna Malcolm-Peck out for year

Sending karma Brenna's way. She just can't seem to catch a break.

I hate to say it, but Brenna may need to shut it down.
I don't see why. It isn't like she's had multiple major injuries in one place, like her knees (like Tuioti-Mariner). A meniscus isn't that serious.

Not her first meniscus issue.

Body ailments have hampered her for years.

Stomach problems bothered Brenna even in high school and those continued into her freshman year at CU. As a freshman, she also had an ankle injury and a concussion that year. All told, she played 68 minutes for the Buffs in 2009-10.

A year ago, Brenna was doing conditioning work during the second day of practice when she got hurt again.

"I hyper-extended my knee," said Brenna, who wound up redshirting last season. "When I did that, I fractured my tibial plateau and I subluxed my patella and I crushed my meniscus."

I'm asking here in the hopes that someone knows. When does the scholarship limit for WBB go down from 15 to 14? Is that effective next season?

According to this, http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/ncaa/resources/latest+news/2012/january/di+board+reaffirms+expense+allowance%2C+multi-year+scholarships the Board did not adopt scholarship reduction at its January 2012 meeting. (About 2/3 of the way down). Is there later info that says they did? The proposal, as I understood it, was to reduce WBB from 15 to 13, matching MBB llimit.

Oh man, I missed that. I assumed it had passed (and that it was 14). OK, 15 it is. That'll help with some stuff I'm working on for the women's recruiting board.

I agree with you, sadly for Brenna. She's had multiple concussions also. She played only 74 minutes in her CU career. It doesn't sound like it was meant to be for her.
