Yet the Buffaloes, who lost their two best players off last season's team in Alec Burks and Cory Higgins, have better overall and conference records and appear to be in the same situation this season.
Well, sort of.

Ron Chenoy/US PresswireColorado coach Tad Boyle is pleased with his team's first season in the Pac-12.

Colorado is 19-9 overall and 11-5 -- but in the Pac-12, not the Big 12.
"Our seniors have stepped it up, and we have a great blend with a few freshman guards," Colorado coach Tad Boyle said. "We've got one guy who is third in the country in rebounding in Andre Roberson. We're not great at anything. But we are the best field goal defensive team in the league, and we can rebound. We're good at a lot of things."

washington is on the cusp of top 50 in rpi so we should finish with two wins in the top 50. hopefully beating USC doesn't bring them down that much.

I wish we played oregon on Saturday, give the ducks one more chance to pop into the top 50 with a win over Utah, then we could grab a top 50 road win

do they count it at the time when you play them or is like a moving average kind of thing? For some reason I think we play better on Thursdays on the road so glad we are playing them first.

It is a moving average.

We need Washington to finish in the Top 50 along with Cal. Wouldn't hurt if Zona could get there too. That would be 3 wins in the top 50 and we'd look so much better.

Also, we need other opponents to move up.

Maryland (103), Stanford (106), Georgia (108) could all help us by finishing in the Top 100. Hell, Air Force (163) could theoretically move into the Top 100 if they could pull off upsets to finish out - @ New Mexico and home vs CSU.

Fresno State (207) and CS-Bakersfield (215) could help us by getting into the Top 200. (CSB is done playing, so they need to move up through other teams moving down.)

They organize those Team Sheets the Selection Committee uses by showing the team's results in groups of games against opponents with RPIs in Top 50, 51-100, 101-200, and 201+. We want as few teams as possible in the 201+ column - that killed us last year.
