Official Selection Sunday thread

We need teams at-large teams to keep losing tonight. Every loss moves us up the pecking order for seeding. We want an 11 or 12 rather than a 9 or 10.

13 or 14 would be too low for a conference champ, though.

I was actually thinking that we will probably be an 8 or 9 seed. That might be a bit high, but for the selection committee, we just won four straight in four days on neutral ground. The best part is we will probably be up against a good BCS school instead of some disrespected mid-major upset special type school.

I think 8 is the low end. Probably 6-8. I just don't see them seeding a major conference champion that low.

We will have around a 7 seed.

No chance. 10 if we're lucky. Lunardi did his bracket update last night assuming UA would win because they were the higher seed. He put them as a 13 seed playing Florida State in Albuquerque. Their resume' looked incredibly similar to ours...

It would be sweet to end up at a location somewhere in the west rather than getting shipped off to somewhere like Pittsburgh or Greensboro...

If we can get a 6, I'd be ecstatic. But that's one of the top 24 teams. I just don't see it.

as of right now Lunardi has Cal as an 11 seed and Palm has Cal as a 12. I think Cal and Colorado are the only two that get in from the PAC.

I think we'll get a 10 or 11 seed and that the committee will reward us as the conf champs by sending us to ABQ. Selfishly I'm hoping for Greensboro.

No chance that we get better than a 9/10 seed but that's not a bad thing, every year there is at least 1 or 2 11/12 seed upsets in the 1st round.

11 or 12 seed wouldn't be to bad.

I want one of these over anything 7-10. We get a slightly tougher first round matchup, but pending a win, we won't be stuck against a 1 or 2 in the second round. Gives us the best chance for making it to the Sweet Sixteen.

it is interesting that Lunardi had Arizona as a 13 seed playing in the Arizona region (not going to happen) against Florida State. Since FSU beat Duke today, they are moving up. Palm had Arizona as a 13 seed as well playing against Georgetown in the East bracket (first game in Portland). I think our resume was pretty similar to Arizona so I think and 11 to 13 seed is what we should expect.

I am hoping they go to the East region. Gonna be in Boston for the sweet 16, if they can somehow make it that far. I told a buddy that they had a .0000001% chance of making it two days ago. If they actually get seeded, it will be about a 10% chance they win both games.

rpiforecast has Colorado at 61 right now with a few games left to play. The game that can still affect us is:

Ohio (rpi #58) vs Akron (rpi #51) it is 62-61 Ohio with 54 second left

we really want Akron to win this one.
