Former KU QB Jordan Webb considering transfer to CU

I think this would cause Hirschman to transfer if he fell to 3rd (or even 4th with Dillon) in fall camp.

I wonder how the rest of the Buffs feels about it? Not sure what kind of chemistry this guy would bring? Would like to know more why Wies said he wouldn't be part of the QB competition?

With Hirschman's injuries it may not be a bad idea to add some depth. I believe it's not going to matter what happens, Hirschman is probably going to transfer. Especially if Conner takes the starting job.

Embry has to be a little concerned considering he broke his foot stepping off the sidewalk. We have not had quality qb depth here for a long time. I'm for bringing him in.

It is a good move for depth... something will have to give, simply cannot carry six QBs on the roster.

JR- Webb
So- Wood, Hirschman
Fr- Dorman (RS), Dillon

Am I missing someone? I'm pretty sure that Schrock is still a walk on.

Schrock is a walk-on, but he has been taking the reps like a scholarship player. If no one transfers, some guys are doing next to nothing for multiple years on scholarship.

I have no issues with the move, although it likely means no 2013 QB in a loaded QB class.

no ty.

The depth for this year would be nice, but I'd rather roll with Hirschman/Schrock and bring in a freshman.

Not that Webb is in the same league, but I remember last year the majority of people were opposed to bringing in Russell Wilson if we could. There's a natural inclination, I guess, to go with the guys we have instead of bringing in a mercenary for help.

I'm always in favor of adding talent to give us the best chance to win now.

Good half. Let's take the UNLV fans out of this game and put these brick laying clowns away.

We are already short on space for our upcoming recruiting class. Would Webb contribute more than the recruit we would have to give up for his spot.

I would rather have a recruit at another position of need this year.

why would the coach count totally him out before practices start? Sounds like a ****** message to the whole team.

This makes me a little scared about the QBs we have. I hope this is simply depth and does not mean that the guys we have are questionable (I'm referring mostly to Wood). I suppose it could just mean there is really nothing beyond Wood, so we need a guy like this as backup. Most logically I would assume this is a Webb for Hirschman swap.

Some to do with Hirschman, but a lot to do with Burnette never doing anything while he was here.

Do we know anything other than he has expressed an interest in CU. I haven't seen anything about CU being interested in him, or offering a scholly.

lets not be reading things into this that aren't there.

Other than him hanging around practice and being on-campus for a few days, along with him talking to Rip Scherer, this post would be totally correct.

Mattslapped!

I'm a little iffy on the move as well but our coaches seem to be better at evaluating talent then our previous regime. I'd say give them a little trust I just hope this isn't a panic move. I was really impressed with Schrock when I saw him in person last spring. He looked the more composed. I haven't seen Wood in person and probably wont until a game day.

I'm not saying this is the case, but a buddy of mine that I played baseball with in high school broke his thumb when he hit it on his thigh running to first. Once he healed his thumb and could play again, the next day he broke his hand when he CAUGHT a baseball that was thrown to him. Turned out he had leukemia. Easy breaks, long recovery times freak me out.

I am a bit surprised by the interest in Jordan Webb. He is a running QB. He takes off too early, his passing skills is average. Maybe they are thinking of implementing more zone read into the offense.
