Conference pride is on the line. We really need to see the conference perform in the consolation tournaments.

NIT
Washington & Arizona got #1 seeds
Stanford & Oregon got #3 seeds

CBI
Washington State & Oregon State in the field (doesn't look seeded)

Doing well in these tourneys will make an impact on how the conference is perceived when the talking heads are predicting things for next year. We want a Pac-12 that's pulling 4+ bids a year, even in a down year.

Tuesday results:

Washington win over TX-Arlington (82-72)
Oregon win over LSU (96-76)
Washington State win over San Francisco (89-75)

Stanford in progress vs Cleveland State right now (leading 38-33 with 17 minutes left)

These are the types of games the conference was losing early in the season.

Stanford got the win tonight, so 'Furd, Oregon and Washington all are moving on to the Round of 16. Arizona plays tomorrow.

Yeah, I know it's the NIT, but **** it. This league needs to take advantage of every opportunity for OOC wins at this point.

This tournament is going to come down against PAC-12 opponents. Good thing they don't have to worry about Colorado.

Washington State also won their game last night.

Tonight we will be cheering for Arizona, Oregon State and Cal to win their play-in game.

I had a fun thought:

Suppose a Pac-12 team wins the NCAA, NIT, and CBI...we should shove it down the throats of non-Pac-12 fans about why we are the CONFERENCE OF CHAMPIONS.

While we're at it, it would be nice to see Alabama from the other side of the bracket to avenge our loss in MSG last year.....I mean if there is going to be an unlikely champion - why not get BC all riled up again for fun!

Arizona was completely flat tonight against Bucknell. I tried watching it for a while, but I can't stand seeing a team that disinterested.

Oregon, Washington and Stanford still alive in the NIT. Oregon and Washington will play each other on Tuesday and it will be a tough matchup for both squads. Stanford plays later tomorrow and hopefully they can advance to the next round and we can see a Pac-12 final in the NIT.

On another note after seeing Oregon light it up in 4 of the last 5 games it really makes me appreciate how good of a defensive team Colorado is. You guys were the only one that has been able to slow the Ducks offense and if not for the lucky 3 point shooting the Ducks had in the 2nd matchup vs Colorado you guys would have swept the 3 game series.

Thanks for the nice post CD - Glad to see the rest of the Pac12 teams doing well in the NIT. Hope that everyone can keep it up

PAC-12 NIT championship. Lets hope it will be a NCAA Pac-12 championship in the future.

Still alive:

NIT Oregon (whipped Iowa on Sunday)
NIT Stanford (OT win last night over Illinois State)
NIT Washington and Oregon play tonight
CBI Oregon State (20pt win over TCU last night)
CBI Washington State (20pt win over Wyoming last night)

Very disappointed in Arizona...I'm expecting them to be contenders for the Pac-12 next season.

People act like Arizona is some great basketball school, I don't buy it.

They had a highly successful run under Lute Olsen but since he retired they have consistently failed to live up to expectations. Even with what looks to be a very good recruiting class coming in next year I still don't buy them as a dominant program.

With UCLA on the ropes, USC being terrible, and a bunch of other schools who are good but not great the opportunity is there for Tad and the Buffs to take charge of the conference. I would like to see some other programs step up to increase the profile of the conference and get more bids to the tourney each year but the days of Arizona running the show in the PAC are gone.

CU Buffs, top program in the PAC sounds good to me.

Huskies hold off a tough Oregon squad 90-86.

Good luck tomorrow Stanford, I'd love to see an all-Pac Final.

UW-Oregon would have been a great championship game on a neutral court.

I remain impressed with the scoring that Stanford can put up. In a competitive scoring game, CU could never outscore opponents. Luckily, it was never Tad's style.

Last night, Washington State took Game 1 (best of 3) from Pitt in the CBI championship round. They can bring home the title on Wednesday.

Tonight in the NIT semi-finals, Stanford plays UMass and Washington plays Minnesota. Both are higher seeds, so we've got a good chance of seeing an all Pac-12 final.

Ignoring that 25+ year run under Lute, the 15 odd sweet sixteen's in their history and the national title. All they've done under a patch work coaching situations in the past 5 years is win the Pac-12, make the tourney three times, the sweet sixteen twice and the elite 8 once.

Not to be an ass but what kind dumb are you?

What the hell are you smoking?

and, az has the #1 BB class coming in. Either 4 - 5 stars or something else incredible

Over a few year span, do we play az more than say Wash or OR?

I'm not sure how the schedule rotates for hoops.

I had assumed that next year would be the reverse of this year (UCLA & USC at home; UDub & Wazzu on the road; everyone else home/home) and that the following 2 years we'd only have 1 game against some grouping of Cal/Stan, UA/ASU & UO/OSU. Only Utah is home/home every year.

I don't know that is right, though. Can anyone confirm or correct?
