Baylor Fans Chant 'Big 12 Rejects' At Colorado, And Nothing Makes Sense Anymore - SBN

best part about that article is that the baylor fans actually didn't know the irony of what they were doing.

Can't read article~ How did Baylor know to chant "Big 12 rejects" if we didn't even chant "Pac 12 rejects"? Someone read Allbuffs?

I think their website linked allbuffs. That is why so many of them came over AFTER the game to spew their venom. Great baptists.

A quick snapshot of a typical Baylor fan:

Bailer's chants weren't original -- they copied from the Buffs. We know that. Albuquerque knows that. Hell, even bailer knows that.

kewl line from the article:
"Political involvement, of course, is how Baylor ended up in the Big 12 at the expense of TCU to begin with, back when Texas and its many associates became SOUTH-WEST-REE-JECTS CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP...... "

But back to Snow's point. I don't believe they knew they were being funny. The Baylor fans that visited Allbuffs weren't capable of appreciating irony. I'm not even sure they would have keyed in on "knock knock" jokes.

That conversation I had with that BU fan about the dick jokes was unbelievable. He called me an idiotic poster, yet he was incapable of even understanding the conversation he was having. Good times.

I agree with Wally. The BU fans are just idiots. They live in a little Waco bubble - and they somehow truly believe the B12 is going to be a better conference, and that they rejected the Buffs

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I think it went down.

One of the assholes on Allbuffs threatened a "Pac12 rejects" chant online. The idea caught fire.

CU Athletic director intervened in Albuquerque. He heard about what CU fans were planning ahead of the game and made a passionate plea for CU fans NOT to taunt Baylor with the Pac 12 rejects cheer.

Baylor fans stole CU's idea and twisted the wording to mock CU.

When the round 2 game was out of reach, the Baylor fan base rolled out their nonsensical BIG 12 rejects cheer for everyone to hear, both in the Pit and accross TV land.

The reaction to Baylor's taunt ranges from confusion, to outrage, to admiration, depending on your intellegence and where your passions lie.

The net-net is that
1) Mike Bohn opts for the highroad (again).
2) Social Media, including what is posted on message boards like Allbuffs can drive fan behavior to noteworthy extremes.
3) Baylor's fans and possibly it's administrators once again don't show the same restraint as CU in Albuquerque.
4) Baylor won and rubbed our noses in it.

Baylor wears audacious highlighter yellow uniforms. They play a brash canadian who doesn't draw taunting penalties when he flashes his three goggle handsign. They hire a controversial coach who use recruiting tactics that fall in the NCAA gray area. This school from Waco takes their victory and their Baylor brand of religion to Atlanta.

We are left holding our peckers and shaking our heads.

This begs some questions:
1) Was Mike right to reign in CU's fans? The CUAD did have it's neck on the line by significantly subsidizing the travel of 100 students. Larry Scott was looking over his shoulder and thinking about how much CU's brand would contribute to network revenues. The C-Unit is expected to be a positive ambasador to the university, especially when traveling on CU's dime. Mike Bohn simply could not afford to screw up the trip with these subsidized students getting into a nasty brawl with these Texans.

But what did CU really gain by not acting like the horrible fans?

The rest of the B12 makes us out to be the worst fans around. We do our part here on Allbuffs to push grandma down the stairs, throw pissbombs here and there, and slice a few tires along the way.

But there is such a non-sequitor between the Allbuffs assholes and the lily white wholesome goodness of the C-Unit.

The Baylor fans who visited allbuffs got an eyefull of **** Baylor! And Davidian University references complete with burn it down videos. And Britney Griner jokes. And references to the Patrick Dennehy murder. And allegations about how Baylor's allegedly conceals improper payments. This was on top of the whole legitimate beef that CU has with the lack of ethical leadership displayed by Kenneth Starr and Buddy Jones during conference reallignment. Its almost as if...gasp...they will do anything to win.

A few Baylor fans respond by signing on to Allbuffs with usernames like "suckmyass", then proceed to offer up stupid and crass posts and a bunch of Heslip highlight reels.

Any impartial person reading Allbuffs and Baylorfans last Friday and Saturday would come away with the conclusion that both fanbases deserve each other.

2) And what did Baylor loose by being baited (by allbuffs) into acting like dooshbags on network TV with their ironically stupid cheer?

Not much.

A lot of America idolizes brash stupidity. You know that fans from every other school in the B12 and maybe a few from P12, Two from SEC and one B1G aNUs got a chuckle at CU's (and Baylor's) expense.

Look no further than MTV's Jersey shore, Jackass and GIA's First Date thread as examples of where people flock to the intersection of dumb & balsy.

It's not like the Baylor Bears have any dignity anyway, following a growing litany of embarrassing and tragic news stories.

I take zero satisfaction that Baylor fans got not only the win, but also claim the zinger of the evening that they stole from us and prompltly shoved it up our asses.

Seems to me that the next time CU faces Baylor in a bowl game or Mens basketball tournement, Mike Bohn and Bruce Benson should strongly consider taking a drive down to the corner of stupid and balsy. It is simply unacceptable to keep losing to those clowns.

I can't believe my chant idea that I posted on a website with a dozen 35 year olds, made it all the way to Mike Bohn and then all the way to the entire Baylor fan base.

let that be a lesson to all of us involved.

Actually this whole trip to the tourney should be an eye-opener for CU and our admins regarding the power of new media.

"Big 12 Rejects"

CU was the primary architect from the Big 8 side in the Big 12 merger. 15 years later, CU voluntarily paid millions of dollars so that it could leave.

I've been swamped at a business trade show since Friday and haven't had a chance to read much of the board. Was that chant by Baylor supposed to be funny in an intentionally ironic way? They can't possibly be stupid/willfully ignorant enough for that to have been sincere.

would you like to bet?

The Baylor Bores are copying CU again...students get bus to Atlanta, hotel and tickets for $100.

http://www.baylorfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236104

I can't think of too many things that would be worse than being on a cross country trip crammed onto a bus filled with the Kenneth Start Junior League. I guess being in Waco surrounded by thousands of them would be worse, though.

No joke - just thinking about this caused a full body cringe.

Agreed.

We may have started something that will be seen time and time again, by any number of schools.

To be fair, many other schools have done this in the past. I think Davidson or some other small school brought their entire school to the NCAA tourney a few years ago.

The funniest thing is that they are riding a bus to Atlanta. A 7 hr bus ride is one thing but going halfway across the country please. We at least flew our C-Unit to LA.

Ah Baylor, always following, never leading. That's the Baylor way.

We help create a new conference (Big XII), they beg and plead to get in on the fun. We realize new conference sucks, orchestrate yet another new conference (Pac-12), and they again beg and plead to get in on the fun. We do some cool stuff with our fans, and they latch onto it like a teat.

Let it be known that CU is an incubator for leadership and new ideas, while Baylor is a place for sheep mentality and coveting thy neighbors cool ****.
