Sports Agents in Collage Football. Another Idea

What is to stop the Texas' of the world from having donor sponsored "agents" loaning money to every player on the roster?

Texass wouldn't be the only school that would try to have so called doner sponsored agents. Again, he didn't cover all the bases.

I guess it is like anything, you create a system and someone is going to find a loophole to get around it.

We've got a serious problem. The Big 10,1,whatever is kicking our ass in the collage race! Look at these magnificent examples!

Is anybody else getting Carlon Brown as the leadoff "pictures of the week" on that link?

In!

I'd love to be the agent for this one. I like how USC looks sad.

Edit: Also, the homoerotic themes make it seem more artistic, in my opinion.

My concern is about the High School football collages in this scenario. The Agents are already lining up for this gem from "Big B" from Torrey Pines.

Would his (Josh Luchs) idea work? I'm not sure what if anything would clean up players taking $$$ under the table? The article hasn't covered all the bases and has a few gray areas, but the concept seems sound to me.

I've got another great idea: let's let banks pay the salaries of the people who rate their creditworthiness. Nothing can go wrong, right?

This is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. Give these crooked agents a little legal cover and they'll find a way to abuse it. It's a little telling, isn't it, that Josh Luchs is an agent? It can't work anyway - what self-respecting star player is going to sign up to repay what he can get for free? Ridiculous IMO.

That's a part of the article you might have missed. If they player doesn't pan out, then the agent is out of the money, not the player.

I still maintain that the economics won't allow it to happen, that only sure things will get money out of agents, or at least significant money, and that it does nothing to resolve unreported money, which is now easier to do since the agent is already seeing the players under the guise of legality. It's all bull****.

It's always going to be a problem. Every big time program is guilty of it in some manner - no exceptions. It's become part of the game. Is it fair , no - but life is like that in every way.
