Although the title of this story specifically mentions the newly available Kansas State job, it is intended to be more of a blanket post that will cover 95% of the rumors about Buffaloes head coach Tad Boyle being a candidate for many of the new jobs that open that we'll consistently be bombarded with until Tad retires or moves onto another position. The Mercury has learned from a...

Anyone recall Larry Eustachy? He coached at Iowa State and he could come back to the Big 12 and is currently the coach at Southern Miss. Given that the MWC and C-USA is in the progress of merging, he might want to get out of Mississippi and back into the Big 12.

Given the committment made by CU towards CU basketball, I don't see Boyle going despite KSU is currently building a new practice facility for basketball. Everyone should be asking why Martin would leave such a promising future in Manhattan for one in Columbia.

Not really worried. KSU doesn't have more money than Colorado.

That will remain true even once the Big 12 signs their new media deal since CU will still be averaging $1 million more per season than any Big 12 school not named Texas.

I am sure Eustachy would love to get back into the B12, he has a little baggage and a history of partying with coeds on the road after losses.

Martin earned more $ at KSU than Boyle does at CU. I don't think Boyle is leaving for KSU, but if you want to talk strictly $ he would have left for A&M last yr.

A&M has impressive facilities as well. If he won't leave for A&M, I can't see him going to KSU either. We'll have to deal with all this rumor regarding Boyle until CU becomes more established (already is happening) in basketball.

Ya gotta admit, that's a little flattering.

Absolutely.

I'll laugh so hard if Bruce Pearl is the guy. After hiring Huggins and Martin, they can't go with Pearl next, can they? I mean, there has to be some level of plausible deniability to the NCAA that you're not a rogue program.

Let's see -- Pearl is in detention for the next couple of years .... kJucoSt is looking at possible sanctions that, in theory, could run at the same time as Pearl's sentence.

Sounds like a match made in heaven.

K State and Pearl definately deserve each other

Excited that Boyle wants to take the state's best University and put it square on the map! Roll Tad Roll

@EricGoodman seems to have squashed this rumor. According to him, Tad Boyle said: "Don't have interest in other jobs. Want to do something special at CU."

You need to get in the green with some rep for delivering the good twitter news. Thanks.

Lesson to all new members - bring content to work into the flow. I'd say to try to be funny, but that's ended up with mixed results (usually not good).

Thanks.. dunno how rep works, but it sounds good haha.

Nate Bukaty of 810 sports in KC, is still trying to keep the rumor alive though.

****ing KSU. Talk to us after you get the rest of your mascot uniform out of layaway.

P.S. If you want to give someone rep for a post you like, you click the star icon beneath their post, type a quick message, and send it. (Give it a try at the bottom of this post to familiarize yourself with the system.) You've also got options for negative too, if someone acts like a douchenozzle. After you get some rep, you'll see that you have "Notifications" at the top of the screen. Click that drop down and it will show you unread rep messages and/or unread private messages.
