With so many questions heading into this season, what are you most focused on for the Spring Game?

Some of the things I'll be keeping an eye on are:

Connor Wood
OL Play
PRich/Henderson matchup
WR2/Moten matchup
Nick Kasa
Chidera Uzo-Diribe
Tony Jones

im excited... but ill be more excited when we get an actual spring game and not some bizarre scrimmage cause we don't have enough players

Speaking of the Spring Game... does anyone know what type of pre-game activities will take place? Anything for the kids?

interesting that you left sackygate off your list. I want to see if he is in mid-season form right now.

I'm going to try not to lose my nephew this goal.... goal numero uno

Will focus on the play calling and technique used by the players. Will also focus on the players from the 2011 class, see how they are coming along.

It's the Spring game. I don't think you're going to see Scooter get too creative with the playcalling.

The play calling will be creative enough, to keep the defense guessing. Last year spring play calling was good. I am looking for improvements in red zone play calling. Will focus more on technique and the 2011 class.

As soon as I see a schedule for the day, I'll get it stickied in here. Rep to anyone who finds it.

i'm looking for the offense to pound it up the middle....****ing POUND IT!

And launch it?

:smile2:

Honestly, I'm having trouble getting too worked up about spring games any more. I mostly just enjoy drinking some beers with some of you guys I haven't seen in a while. Besides that, I do get interested in which recruits visit and seeing who got buried on the depth chart before fall camp. Last for me is what I put in the OP. I don't think you can tell much about individuals unless they're performing when matched up with known entities (i.e., Henderson holding his own with PRich, Chidera doing well against Bahktiari, Lewis or Munyer handling Pericak on the inside, etc.). We can probably tell a bit about who Wood's favorite targets are too.

^^^^^^^

Does not take his football seriously enough.

Isnt there something about funk missing here? If anybody else wouldve mentioned playcalling, I might have put stock into this site really being in the ****ing twilight zone lately. That said, not really shocking. Oline play and how Wood is coming along would be what Id like to see. Defense will be missing alot so I dont know how much of a look we'll get on that end.

1) Big announcement relating to facilities upgrade.
2) O-Line and Ray Polk not committing stupid penalties
3) Amusement at the koolaid guzzling and certainty that a bowl game is totally realistic.

This is the year the OL definitely has a major advantage. If the team can't pound it against this DL then expect another crappy season. If Wood is as good as some of the early reports are saying, then we could actually be in a shoot out this year!

Playcalling?:rofl2:

Yes thats only thing worth the attention. Can't really evaluate talent, Connor Wood throwing against the likes of River Thompson. No pass rush is worthless. No DL depth, not worth the effort. The only thing worth paying attention to is how the players are grasping the play book. The shifting, the audibles and etc. The technique being used at each position.

how does this explain the dozens of posts you have made about players' performances at past spring games? truly dizzying.

But you love the ****ing spring game for evaluating talent...............................................

Out of morbid curiosity, might I ask how you evaluate playcalling in a structured scrimmage (for lack of a better label)?
