Last week, we looked over the men's season and gave a brief preview on what to expect for next year. Today and tomorrow, we're going to do the same for the women's team. Today's look at the graduating seniors is a short one due to the fact that the Buffs only had one. So today, we honor Julie Seabrook for all that she did for the program while she was here.

2011-12: Julie Seabrook was the lone senior for the Buffs this year and led the team in shooting percentage. She also had a Senior Night to remember as she had her fourth career double-double scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds as she helped lead the Buffs to vicotry over Oregon State 67-57. Her last college game was also a memorable one as she scored 16 points -- including 4 of 6 from behind the arc -- as the Buffs fell just short to Oklahoma State 78-70 in the Women's NIT Elite Eight. Seabrook started every game of her junior and senior seasons at CU and was also a member of the Canadian Junior National team. She also was a two time member of the Academic All-Big 12 Women's Basketball squad who should be incredibly proud of her time as a Buff.

Julie had a solid senior year and stepped up as a leader. On a team that ran hot and cold all year, Julie was the one player whose offensive game seemed efficient this year. We're going to miss her.

She is one of the players that benefitted hugely from the coaching change ... going from bench rider as a soph to full time starter and big contributer as a junior. She has really improved her game and was an on-court leader who will need to be replaced for more than her stats next season.

Bold is what shocked me looking over things. The fact that she started every game of her junior & senior years says a lot.

The coaching change benefited two of last years three seniors big time also. They had also ridden the bench for their careers.

Lappe was able to get these players to believe in themselves and gain enough confidence in themselves that they could perform on the court. I'm sure the psyches of Seabrook, Blythe and Dale were all damaged by riding the bench for so long.

Lappe saw the reasons these kids were recruited. She sees the potential in the players in she inherited. She expects them to perform her way. That was not the expectation previously.

Julie was a calming presence on the court this season and was a true leader. She will be missed much by this fan.

Like Nik said, Julie was very efficient. My one wish is that she had shot the ball more often. It's not surprising to look at the stats and see that a post player led the team in field goal percentage, but she also led the regulars in 3pt percentage (17 of 45). Then again, her good shot selection was one reason that she was such a steady presence. I agree with the earlier comments on her leadership, which will be missed as the younger posts continue to develop.
