Will the Buffs sign Anthony January and Dewayne Russell?

Well, if you run a dirty program you get schollies taken away. So, logically, if you run a clean program you should get to add some.

BTW, how did we pass on this guy: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/125446/billydee-williams

whatdo both nik and goose think

I'm convinced that Tad is a mad genius who will find a way to sign as many guys as he wants and make it work. I've given up trying to figure it out. I'm just watching it develop and enjoying the ride.

If you're asking for my thoughts on the players, I can help. I like January. Lanky small forward with some freakish physical skills. Like XJ, motivation seems to be the biggest thing holding him back. The ESPN scouting report flat out says that he dogs it at times. But if he finds the right situation, he could be a badass. As for Russell, I don't know much (I did a little reading when he originally committed to USC), but I know he's a small PG who can shoot.

In other words, both would be able to help the team and would be solid signings.

If you're asking for my thoughts on how Tad is going to pull this off, I give up. It seems like every time I start to work on the class balance post that I made a while back, things change or new news leaks out. But, as I mentioned in a conversation yesterday, I'm not worried at all. I have 100% faith in Tad to be able to balance this perfectly, I'm just curious how the hell he's going to do it.

What are the options here? Some of the guys we already signed are not likely to clear admissions? Pulling schollies or strongly encouraging transfer?

Can you greyshirt in basketball?

Maybe we're stashing a couple at a prep school and re-signing them for the 2013 class. Maybe Ben, Shannon and Shane are all leaving. Maybe both Dre and Spencer are going to declare for the draft after next season.

I'd take a flier on January. It's not like we'd be counting on him next year anyway, so it wouldn't really hurt if he doesn't qualify. Not sure that another PG is really a need though.

Haven't been on allbuffs for a couple of days, did I miss something?

Nope. Although Ringo did mention somewhere that Shane's name is left out of the conversation on potential transfers... and maybe it shouldn't be.

Interesting, I missed that. He seems like an odd one to transfer. He already red-shirted, should get increased minutes this year and his game started to come along near the end of the year.

Unless he decided to go back to Australia and play professionally. Looks like Nate is going pro there and possibly Austin.

Is Shane set to graduate early in May? He is a RS SO, so I guess it is possible. That is the only way going pro in Australia makes sense to me anyway.

I just want to point out that the final Rivals 150 for 2012 came out. #61 is Josh Scott. #75 is Xavier Johnson.

#63 is Anthony January.

I don't think it's likely either. But I'm throwing everything out there. Tad's got a lot of moving parts and is making moves that are hard to understand.

Mac Taddy is a a mad genius. Accept it, or be left behind.
