If Mr. Johnson signs with the Buffs, he'll have to take on the moniker of his namesake -- The Rock.

Big dude with some nice, quick feet.

If ya smeeeelllllllllllllleeelllllll what the rock.is.cookin

When I posted this profile, I wondered who would be the first idot to post a quote, vid or pic from The Rock.

I shouldn't have wondered.

Yeah, I really can't wait to replace that "pancake" stat with "laid the smack down on his candy ass"

OK. Let's keep in mind that this is a recruit thread. If you feel a burning need to talk about men in tights, do it in the Pub.

 fair enough... he gets to the next level pretty quick

I'm really impressed with how well he moves and is able to handle the Center position at 6'6". Maybe he played a lot of basketball or something. You usually don't see that.

it would be good a pull another quality lineman out of texas--- we've had some good ones over the years. it looks like he can move and he has a mean streak: both are excellent qualities.

fingers crossed!

Your finger is not crossed.

Where is Bellaire? Have we ever had any other players from that school?

He looks quick on his feet

Bellaire is the "good" Houston public high school that you want your child zoned to. Hasn't produced a ton of football talent relative to other schools. However Dennis and Randy Quaid both graduated from there.....

Good size on him. At 6'6", what do you think he has the frame to play at? 300? 325?

so did my uncle

Adam is reporting that this dude is leaning CU:

"Houston (Texas) Bellaire lineman Dwayne Johnson admits he has been tempted to commit to #CUBuffs: http://t.co/LKxbgEdO #Buffs #BuffStampede"

The Rock is gonna lay the smackdown on your candy ass! The Rock is gonna go down Know Your Role Boulevard, hang that right at Jabroni Drive, and proceed to check your candy ass in at the Smackdown Hotel. Know you role and shut your mouth. If you smell... what the Rock is cookin'!

I wonder if Dwayne has a middle name that he likes?

CU is really loading up on the OL. Last year it was DL, this year it looks liike OL....

Five OL is a pretty big OL class. Add in another and it is, dare I say it, jumbo.....

Welp, see ya...

"Colorado, Purdue, SMU, and Tulsa are my top four" said Johnson. "I have already made up my mind but will call the school next Monday."

Johnson visited SMU right after school ended and was very impressed with what he saw.

"When I visited SMU, I was really impressed with the facilities and the campus. Education is my top priority in a school and SMU, education-wise is better than Colorado, Tulsa and on par with Purdue"

Can't say I know much about SMU's academics, but I'm surprised that he's concluded it's better than CU. I imagine it would depend a lot on what he plans to study. Hopefully it's not a case of negative recruiting by other schools labelling CU a party school.

There's a lot of "conventional wisdom" in Texas based on state pride that isn't always based in reality. For example, Texas kids are told that Baylor is the equivalent of Stanford for academics. SMU, by extension, would be like going to USC.

^This. It may also be that our staff has backed off with a full O-line class, and he's rationalising his decision for SMU or Purdue.

In terms of threat to students that's actually a true statement. You could get kilt!
