Predictions for RMS

No flaming please.

Well, this is the first year I think we(CSU) can honestly win. I know we've gone 3-9 3 straight years and just lost our two best players (Capi and Orakpo). But moving to the 3-4 will help with that loss as we can move some DE's to cover for Orakpo and some DT to DE to cover for Capi. The 3-4 definitely fits our players better.

We essentially have 90% of our players returning with nearly 20 starters returning as well. The loss of Pete Thomas is a plus as well and we have 3-5 players who were out all year returning this year. McElwain is obviously a great game planner and I think that makes the difference

I think CSU wins because from what I can tell its a massive rebuilding year for CU. New QB and 3 returning starters on offense and an abysmal DL. You guys are probably going to have to start 5+ true freshmen against us and I doubt they play well in their first game of their college career. The loss of Richardson really hurts CU's chances.

The wildcard is Connor Wood, but also its his first game ever. I don't think CU can win with a new QB, no weapons on offense and probably going to have to start 4+true freshmen on defense.

My prediction:
23-10 CSU

 you guys predict a big CSU win every year, and you have a new coach with a new system, an OL that gave up 30 some sacks in a single scrimmage, and even less playmakers than you did last year. I don't see a possible, plausible scenario where CSU even makes it a game.

30-10 CU

My prediction is a miserably boring game, in a ****** environment with the over under at 27+/-

Of course i think CU takes it.

Fair enough. But you place to much stock in this great 'game-planning' coach who no one has ever seen coach.

Additionally, you place all this stock in us lacking offensive weapons, but pretty much gloss over the loss of your two best players. Additionally, the first game in a new system is going to be tough.

I know you're psyched about having a new coach, but you should probably temper your expectations a bit. CSU has almost no talent.

CU wins going away as we simply out-athlete CSU, even if it is young guys.

I think it is still way too early for predictions. Your spring game is tomorrow and we shall see how many sacks your offensive line gives up.

My way too early prediction:

CU 17 CSU 10

Cu fans 28000 CSU fans 17000

No talent? We have a lot of talent. Fairchild was a good recruiter, and bad game coach.

Someone tell me how CU wins this game with no returning starters. We have 20+ returning starters

I predict another miserable gameday experience at Mile High.

CU should win another yawner.

Except those 4 years he started in high school. And all the prep tems he played on. And his experience on the basketball team, golf team, and track team. First game means nada.

CSU doesn't have talent. CU doesn't have any upper classman talent. This will be another bad year for both teams. I just feel CU sucks a little less at football than CSU.

Offensive line + running game = win.

It seems like Fairchild was a good recruiter, but lots of his best talent couldn't get admitted or is now suspended for the game.

Lots of the players who will be back for the Buffs were put thru the fire last season. I don't see where CSU has the horses to win this game, much less 3 total next season.

We have enough to beat a CU team with no returning starters and that will have to start atleast 5 true freshmen.

You guys will be good in 2-3 years as Embree is good at recruiting, but not this year. Definitely a rebuilding year.

no flaming please???? you come to the another teams board, start a thread wherein you claim an unproven coach's a relatively unproven qb and a new defensive alignment without your teams 2 best players will lead to a 2 touchdown victory and our team will have no shot????

eat me you sheep ****ing moron... i would say you had balls but we all know they are sheep balls... which means its 2 genital warts on a glorified labia.. shut the **** up.. your team has no talent... it is void of talent... 45-3 buffs

What you are failing to realize is that Embree's true freshman are 10 times better than Hawks' 5th year seniors.

We return 3 OL starters, 1 WR who started last year, our RB started a few games. Not a lot on offense. QB will either be Wood (a soph who started in the Army AA game a few years ago) or Webb (a transfer from Kansas who has started for 2 years).

Defensively, we return a starter at DT, 1 at DE, all 3 LBs, 1 CB and 2 safeties. All of our specialists also return from last year.

fwiw, Pete Thomas was the only reason last year's game wasn't a blowout for CU. Maybe it was the best game he played all year, considering that CSU fans don't like him, but he was thought of highly enough to have BCS transfer options. I doubt that would be the case with his replacement.

We have as many offensive weapons as CSU (sans Nwoke, but anyone can breakout at RB) and a much better defense. Our crap DL has two players in Pericak and Diribe that are better than anyone CSU has on the DL.

We have returning starters. Our OL is our most veteran position, have two seniors starting on the DL (Pericak and CUD), our youngest LB will likely be a junior, a junior and a senior starting at safety, to name a few. Our secondary will be young, but I'm not worried one bit about them against CSU.

I actually liked what I saw out of Grayson against TCU - but he will need to take that step forward in his development if CSU hopes to beat CU.

I think you should be significantly concerned about your defensive coaching staff. It is not good. And who knows how good McElwhine is at coaching offense? This isn't Bama where he has 5* players at every position and a smothering defense. He didn't show much in the realm of creativity in that role. How will the offensive playcalling be improved over Fairchild?

Plus "20 returning starters" doesn't mean they're any good. 3 straight 3-9 years with those guys with garbage schedules isn't a good thing. Even Hawk's crap players were on the bowl bubble a couple seasons the last game of teh season, and against a much more difficult schedule

45k? Is that announced attendance, or butts in seats?

Actually, I'm curious. Let's get a break down. Who is superior in these position categories? And why?

they have 20 guys returning from a terrible team, who got crushed at Invesco, by a CU who might have been less talented team than we have this year.

yeah this is going to be a cakewalk for you guys.

This has all the makings of a pillow fight.

No matter which team walks off of the field with a victory, the true losers in this battle of underachieving cripples are those members of the college football viewing audience who might be expecting to be entertained by an awesome specticle of well disciplined athletic showmanship.

The message boards after the game very likely will include the term "ugly win" for somebody.

I would be for a halftime arm wrestling match between coach sparkles and emburrito to help up the anti.

It's pretty cool to see that CSU fans are drinking the koolaid and will bring some swagger going into opening day.

We CU fans are expecting...no, make that demanding a full undressing of our poorer and less talented little brothers to the north.

Yeah. CU will have "announced" of at least 25k just from the season ticket holders. With the students, we'll sell 30k or so tickets for the game.

I hope they don't move a bunch of us to the other side again this year to make the stadium look more full.

I'm curious, too. I know next to nothing about CSU's team. IIRC, they have a pretty good RB and their punter looked great against us last year.

QB-Toss up. Maybe Grayson due to experience although minimal
RB- Nwoke>anyone we have
WR- Both units are crap
TE- Probably CSU, although stats are skewed due to check-down Thomas
OL-CU. CSU's OL is crap
DL-CU, although young
LB- Easily CU. our best unit by far
CB- Not sure, although we played hot garbage here last year in the RMS and CSU didn't get a 1st down for 2 quarters
S- CU. Ray Polk and Orms>>>> CSU
P-Kontodiakos will get to punt a lot and is actually good
K-Oliver. Does CSU even have a kicker?
