Rating The Raters

Good article. Takeaway: ESPN recruting sucks, and they spend too much time on their knees in front of the SEC. Shocking.

ESPN's basically a 2-man show for its ratings that doesn't allow input from its regional directors. Very biased to the South and very poor once we get beyond the guys they have actually seen. Maybe they've watched 30 seconds of highlights on a kid from Idaho, but even if they did I question how much that's really worth. I also think that ESPN has a partnership with the Under Armour All-American organization that's much tighter than what they have with the Army All-American organization. Whether that skews their ratings to UAAAs versus AAA guys because they see more of them or because of financial influences and bias, I'm not going to speculate. But it is skewed.

IMO, I trust the opinions of Huffman, Worthen and Biggins more than anybody from Rivals or ESPN when it comes to West-coast PSA's.

Different sites definitely have their strengths and biases, but I like the ones who have specific West-coast analyists...

$.02

ESPN is the superstar network, popularity contest network. They don't bother to do there homework.

Which one re-evaluates and adjusts star ratings once the kids are in college? That's the one I want to subscribe to.

Yeah. I really like their west coast group.

I have always preferred Scout for the West Coast ratings and now with Biggins added to the team they are probably the best at covering the West Coast. I liked that article and it was an interesting read thanks for the link!
