Samson's little bro.

MaxPreps had him listed at 6'2" 230lbs. Based on eyeballing the most recent photos, that seems more accurate than the ESPN listing at 6'1" 185 lbs.

Video shows great agility, aggression, toughness and athleticism. Same things that I loved about his brother. The main thing it looks like Sunia needs to work on is gaining size/strength so he can hold the point of attack, especially if we're talking about playing in the Pac-12. I don't think he's got the raw speed to play linebacker, so he's going to need to get himself in the 250 lb range. Looks like he's got the frame to handle more weight.

Buffnik,
YOU ROCK!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for this! I truly appreciate it!!!!! Yes, 6'2 and 230lbs is accurate...probably have gained a little but WOW! AMAZING!!!
I have to say, Samson as well as David-eldest of the boys (attending Oregon) mentored Sunia, and he is great kid. Now I have to share this...Sunia was born almost 14lbs-yes newborn! The biggest out of the bunch!!!! So I think he can get the weight on...no problem!!!! :)

Ouch. Would you mind comparing Sunia and Samson? Do you expect Sunia to get as much recruiting attention as Samson did? tia

Based on what we know from the family character is definately a plus for him. Be great if we have another brother team on the Buffs.

Ouch! This is a tough one! From knowing both of them since birth...hmm...They both are similar in that they are both GREAT kids, hardworking, willing to help, determined, dedicated, and LOVE football. Both have played together side by side, willing to learn from each other and Samson has been a great role model and mentor to Sunia. Sunia is his own person......He stands out in his own way, just like Samson & David, he is outspoken and a good leader. Although he probably does not like being compared to his other brothers (Samson & David) he stands out in that he is unique in his set skills (athletically/academically). I can't put my finger on it, but I know that there is just something different about Sunia, that puts him aside from comparing him to Samson or David. I hope this helps...this was tough! Also as far as recruiting, during Samson's recruiting process Sunia had the opportunity to meet many recruiters from the home visits. I would say, YES! :)

Can't remember if you said this already but what's your relation to these two future Buffs?

Haven't watched the film but if he's similar to Samson's then I'd be estatic.

Speaking of Samson, when's he heading to Boulder?

I can't remember whether BuffedWild wants to be publicly identified or not. But she's the person who took on the monumental task of driving the boys to all the camps and generally taking care of the logistics of managing a lot of the recruiting process.

BuffedWild - please feel free to add more if you would like.

Thank you so much Buffnik!!!, yes as indicated earlier in replies to Creatini, I am the eldest of the siblings. I guess their 2nd Mom since my sisters and I babysat, helped Mom....And THANKS Buffnik! You basically said it all! Thanking God for the opportunities that came about to help direct my brothers in the appropriate path to succeed in life. Growing up we didn't have much, but our parents instilled important values, that has helped us become who we are today.....Sorry ya'll I don't want to bore you all with the story of our lives but just want to give the credit to GOD and my wonderful parents for raising us to understand and know that nothing is impossible with God - hard work, dedication, determination, and the passion to do what you love and help others. Again, feel free to ask questions or comment. Again, I see so much love and support here with you all that I am truly blessed to have ya'll!!! YOU ALL ROCK! GOOOOO BUFFS!!!!!!

BuffedWild,

thanks for joining the site and posting. I know that I am just one of many people here that loves getting the inside perspective on recruits. I can only imagine how hectic this senior year of high school will be for him (especially in the fall with football, visits, talking to coaches and schoolwork). We would love for you to keep us updated on Sunia's sucess his final year.

Tante,
Thank you so much!!! I truly appreciate and LOVE everyone here!! Like yourself, Everyone has shown so much support and love for my brothers and family and I am just so happy that I found this! Yes, It's round 3 for us since we have gone through this process before. Sunia had gotten invited to a Nike camp this summer and he is looking forward to it. I told him I would sponsor him if he kept his grade up and he agreed! I remember how it was for Samson, and it went by so fast!!
Thank you again! I know this year will go by just like the last and I hope that the boys enjoy it because College is totally different from what they expect it to be....I just know that Samson will be in GOOD hands!
Have a blessed one!!!

BuffedWild,

Any chance of Sunia coming to the CU big man camp this summer? I don't know how the dates work with when Samson's coming, but it might coincide.

BuffedWild -- I echo the comments by other AB poster. I can't wait to see Samson on the field, I'm glad that Sunia is considering the Buffs, and I enjoy reading your posts regarding the 2 young men.

Last year was a pleasant novelty here on AB. There were multiple family members actively posting about their own Buff commit. It gave us all more of a personal connection with the young men. So I'm hoping you stick around.
BTW, good luck to Sunia no matter what he chooses to do.

"My brother, Samson Kafovalu, is going to Colorado, and they have been sending me letters and have invited me to camps. I plan to take a visit to Colorado in July for camp and give it my all out there," he said.

As you might imagine, Sunia is high on the Buffs and we have given him recruiting attention. But the idea of going somewhere else to write his own story also has appeal to him.

If he does decide to go somewhere he doesn't have ties to the program, I just hope he chooses to go outside the Pac-12. Having to deal with one Kafovalu boy is enough. :wink2:

Glad to see we're showing interest. Look forward to following Sunia's recruitment. I was big on Samson from the start, can't wait to see him this season in the B&G.

was that ? directed at me ?

Hahaha....That is a good question!!!! Although I will be rooting for BOTH, You know Ill be sitting with the BUFFS!!! Black and GOLD! I had the opportunity to enjoy the Rose Bowl and root for O-town... I already told SAMSON I would and he smiles and tells me "MALO SISU" (translation-"Thank you JESUS!"....so while some of the fam will be on the other side wearing buff/ducks colors. I will surely be sporting the black and gold!!!! I might paint my nails Green and Yellow....but we shall see!

Thank you Buffnik! He told me about the interview and I wanted to see it...BUT no access...THANKS to you I know what he said!

He told me today that he is planning to come out to the Colorado camp:) this summer! He was excited about it!!! and I agree with you Buffnik, as well as others who have shown support of him going else where....in the end it's all up to him...and where ever he decides to go he will always remember the experience (recruiting, people he has meet...ect..) and I know that Colorado is something he will be familiar and will be a part of and this is because he saw how it was for Samson:)
Gosh you all ROCK!!!!
