Bolder officials ready for possible Folsom construction

''

bohn and his team are still working on financing the folsom field project, which will use private donations and future pac-12 television money.

When I was looking at the scoreboard info through facilities, I found something interesting. I was hoping to find something about the practice facility or about closing the north end but I did find something. Check out the "future west stands." Am I crazy or does the club seating not really seem to merit this designation? The suites are on this map so it's not an old remnant and it's not on ANY other map of Folsom I've ever seen. Perhaps this is something we weren't actually meant to see yet?

It's on page 3. I would have cropped and marked it but for some reason, I can't upload pictures right now.

for something that happens one day a year, i find the power the bolder boulder wields a little creepy.

last time i checked it was CU's stadium...

The amount of money that the race brings in for the entire community is simply too much to pass up. It's positive press for all involved and really is a ton of fun on top of all the other things. Will be interesting to see what they do when/if the renovation begins.

Any help we can get regarding the community backing of football is one by me.

The university, and specifically the athletic department, is very wise to have a solid collaborative relationship with the Bolder Boulder.

It's not much of a surprise, though. Figure this, the Bolder Boulder was started by then-Bank of Boulder President, Steve Bosley. Does that name sound familiar? It should, he's a Regent now.

finishin up through a tunnel onto the field would be pretty cool methinks

I keep wondering what an enclosed north end would look like. Do they tear out the Dal Ward? I guess we'll just have to wait until September to find out.

It is convenient that they still need to get Ralphie in and out of there, leaving "just enough" room for runners to make their way in to the stadium. I would hate either of these two outcomes:
1) Altering the stadium plan to accomodate a running race (a great one that I truly enjoy - but still, you are talking about 4 hours out of the year)
2) Hearing the BS uprage from said runners if they lost the ability to use Folsom

Catching a break sometimes is a very good thing.

I hope they make a permanent Ralphie corral/tunnel to run out of. Would be sweet if done correctly

I agree. If done correctly, this could be extremely cool. Can you imagine how freaking awesome it would be to see Ralphie charging out of a tunnel?

I'm not sure what you can do from the perspective of keeping her 'under control' and safe, but having her run out with some smoke or something would be cool. My concern is that the A/D will make some lame disneyland looking thing.

I think it would entail taking some of the seating out in the far north corners, removing the bleachers and replacing them with actual seats and tieing that in with the Dal Ward, but the Dal Ward will be turned into a academic center for athletes if I remember correctly.
