Florida state??? horsepoop!

It'll be tough for them to hold off Notre Dame and Texas A&M in the computer polls come December. Controversy!

It I will be their best team in a while, but they are weak in the run game and will struggle to hold it together for a whole season. If they do, they will be hard to beat in a bowl.

I could see them making the MNC by staying healthy and running the table in the ACC, but I don't see them winning the game. They've got a rep for being wildly unpredictable, but a lot of that was due to injuries on the offensive side of the ball.

Until somebody beats Bama and LSU, I'll go with them again. ACC - give me a break, they couldn't win the PAC 12 or Big 12.

I saw somewhere that this was the first year since like the late 70's or something that nobody from Florida, Florida state or Miami went in the first 3 rounds of the NFL draft.

As sad as it is to say this, I'm surprised by that
Not me, I have always thought they were vastly over rated considering their schedule. There are probably 30 teams from the major conferences who could win big with Boise's schedule.

Tell that to Oklahoma, Oregon, Virginia Tech and Georgia

Colorado was picked by SI to win it all in Rick's 3rd year?

Mission Possible, yo.

times i saw FSU last season, looked like a lot of talent that was undisciplined. and not in a Miami of the 80's way...more like a Chris Simms Texas type way.

It was actually Sporting News that had us preseason #1 in 97. However they had better reason to put us #1 than Steele for FSU this year. In '97 we were coming off a 10-2 season with both our losses within a TD and a Holiday Bowl victory, while returning most of our talent.

Last year FSU went 9-4 with a close win over a mediocre Notre Dame team in a bowl.

I just don't picture FSU as being a title contender again, YET.

PS is of the mark on this one. I looked at his mag, did not buy. Too much minutia. Really why waste print on Deji Olatoye and Herrod? I have no bone to pick with either of them but they are long gone. PS reuses about half of prior issues so his mag looks "Packed" with info. Only about half of it is relevant for the upcoming season...it reads like the fine print on healthclub contract.
