Recruiting budgets, CU opening up the wallet!

Good to see! I believe that our staff is doing the best they can. Eventually that will lead to on field success, I just know it!!

At least we are competing for top talent and not players being recruited by Utah St., Idaho, New Mexico St., i.e. Dan Hawkins.

Glad to see we're spending where we are. I'd like to see it even higher so we top Oregon for tops among Pac-12 teams reporting.

But wtf is up with that Tennessee budget? Only program over a million bucks and they take it all the way to $1.5MM?

Naw, you don't want to spend money just to spend money. I bet Oregon's is driven up by travel costs, it's significantly easier and cheaper to get kids in and out of Denver, and get our coaches to different cities from Denver than it is in and out of Portland.

Maybe Oregon and Tennessee's recruiting budgets include payments to players.

Some big hitters on the N/A list: Miami, Notre Dame, Pedo St. and USC. SMU too, but probably in the "we're not falling for that again" category.

Dooley's an itiot. I think someone forgot to tell him not to report the money he's paying the street agents.

The travel costs are high since the State of Oregon does not produce many D1 athletes so the Ducks coaches are forced to travel a lot more then most teams.

We're similar in that way. Even within our states, most towns aren't a quick and easy drive. But flights are shorter and a bit cheaper to most places from Denver versus Portland (or especially if your coaches take a commuter flight out of Eugene to meet a connection).

Private schools don't have to report money spent. I know USC, Notre Dame, and Stanford are private, I don't know about the others.

Which is a blessing in disguise -- since the major hub is close, recruiting costs should stay somewhat reasonable. This helps to not give ammo to the ridiculous local press, the friends-of-Wardy-C, and any other anti college sports groups around the Boulder area.

Dooley is on a red hot seat, he will probably be fired after this season if things don't turn around.

Well, you guys are definitely investing money in one of the right places to try and improve your odds on landing the players your coaches want. Looking at your recruiting budget is a touch humbling to be sure.
