The newest Pac-12 members are bringing Michigan to town. Both Utah and Colorado announced Wednesday that they will play the Wolverines. The Utes will play host to Michigan in Rice-Eccles Stadium in the 2015 season opener as a part of a home-and-home series that begins with a 2014 game in Ann Arbor. Michigan will make its first Salt Lake City appearance on Sept. 3, 2015 in a rare weekday game for the Wolverines, who have never played on a Thursday.

"A home-and-home series with Michigan is the kind of opportunity that comes with membership in the Pac-12 Conference," Utah athletic director Chris Hill said in a statement.

Haha - other Pac schools immediately recognize the ridiculousness of this in the comments

CU officials should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm so sick of this ****.

Anybody else want to criticize those concerned with the competency of our AD/Admin now? This is just another example of why there are loyal fans who are also doubters. I'm sick of people justifying bush league actions made by our AD.

Hey it could have been worse. He coulda scheduled an away Friday night game vs some MAC opponent like Toledo:scared2:

No one would do something that boneheaded. Hell, if you did that you may as well make that Friday game on what was already a short week following a Sunday game.

He just knows we'll be bcs bound in 2016 and need to stack our schedule difficulty.... DUH

Ugh. I just had a flashback of the Toledo QB running wild through our defense

is there any chance that the second part of the home and home is supposed to be the p12 b10 thing which supposedly starts the next year? Or is that supposed to be indiana or purdue or something?

I doubt it because then it would be off for everyone.

Wake me when we are relevant again. I could be asleep for a long time QUOTE]

You and me both, maybe we'll be woken up by 2020 when the school finally decides athletics is as important to academics in marketing the school. 2020 is just an arbritrary date, could be much longer, or heaven forbid within this decade.

Plati on scheduling Michigan:

I think we all agree on that point, our fans love seeing those teams visit Folsom Field. Really, it is just scheduling quirks; we had a window for a road game in 2016 with six home games plus CSU in Denver. It’s a delicate balance, as do you want an eight-game package for your season ticket holders? Some schools can pull that off, but you have to be smart especially in this economy. We will receive $1,450,000 for the trip in and out of Ann Arbor, quite possibly the most for a one-and-done series in college football history, as we believe the $1.4 million we received for the Ohio State game this past year was the record. We freely admit we scheduled that game for the money, coming off a year where we had no conference distribution check from the Big 12, the one from the Pac-12 was going to be limited, and we had a couple of contracts that required payments to former coaches.

I still don't understand why they kept saying we needed a road game. The game in Denver will never be a home game for us.

I think he is suggesting that we don't have the support/following to successfully pull off 8 "home" games (7 Folsom/1 Denver)

I know, right. I would totally hate having to go up to Folsom AGAIN to watch CU beat somebody in person.
