Martin was the sophomore of the year in California for 2010. His junior year was hampered by transfer rules, but he is already getting looks from all over.

BTW, two of his favorite RBs are Adrian Peterson and Maurice Jones-Drew.

We have not offered. I know a lot of CU fans like the in-state backs, but I would prefer to see us go for broke out of state in either Cali or Texas (supposed to be a big year for RBs in the Lone Star State) for a truly elite back. Martin fits that description.

USC and Alabama are the early leaders for Martin according to Biggins at Scout.

Martin and Cal have parted ways. It sounds like he's starting the process over, and is wide open at this point. I'd love to see EB jump in here and make a run at Martin.

Thanks.

Been waiting for this shoe to drop. I like Martin a lot, too. Sucks for Cal on this one.

The good news here is, while he was flirting with Cal, Oregon locked up commits from Tyner and Wilson, meaning his two favorites (along with USC) are full at RB. If all these RB's want to stay in the Pac-12, and most of do seem to want to stay out west, I've got to think CU becomes really appealing.

Baltazar, Lee, Muhammed, Martin, Cormier...I'm guessing UCLA and Washington each land one of that group, but the other three are going to have to move on Plan B.

He's a good kid and rumor has it that he is focusing on classes and further schooling right now. He may not play D1 ball until those type of things get sorted out first. Best of luck to him.

 California Golden Blogs needs to do a better job of keeping Bear Insider material confidential.

lol.

When Cal first offered, his troubles(not just academic) were manageable. By the time he committed, the staff was sort of caught off guard as things had gotten progressively worse for him. From that moment on, it was only a matter of time before he got dropped.

Amazing how someone with an opportunity to go to one of the best schools in the country would not do his best to be able to follow up with that.

Martin visited Eastern Washington this weekend. Could be where he ends up.
