Post in here if you are pumped with the AD letting us fans we do not deserve seven games in Folsom.

Thanks guys-you ROCK!!!!!!!

yeah, i saw that in the plati thing. why would they think more home games is a bad thing? one and done at michigan or a home game... it seems like a pretty easy call from a FAN perspective.

We have got to, absolutely got to, get rid of the Denver game.

Simply put with the difference in the status between the programs if CSU wants to play us, they play us in Folsom just like any other OOC opponent from a non-AQ conference. I wouldn't mind having them come in on a rotation basis with Wyoming and AFA, I could even see playing AFA as on a 2 for 1 basis.

CSU doesn't generate enough revenue at their place to justify a trip there, same with Wyoming. Playing the game in Denver has run it's course and simply isn't worth it any more.

I'll give the AD some props when the actually do something worth getting them.

Announce the stadium renovations, and they better be more than shrubs and a new coat of paint and he gets props.

Announce the end of the game in Denver and he gets props. But he is also the dumbass that signed the stupid agreement to keep the game in Denver to begin with that cost us the home game he is trying to get back.

The new scoreboards are great, but I thought the south board was going to be larger. While I'm happy that we have new boards, replacing boards that should have been replaced 8 years ago is not any bold commitment to improving.

Basketball facility is nice and I'll give him credit for getting it done.
PAC 12 move was outstanding.

Other than that what has Bohn accomplished?

Ya, it would just suck for Folsom to be used to its fullest extent for one extra day in a year.

Jesus, not to mention this really ****s over the merchants in the town. That is a LOT of extra revenue going somewhere else.

I'm tempted to send Mike Bohn a particularly sarcastic email thanking me from having to attend another game in Boulder on a glorious fall afternoon.

When I heard Plati's ramblings this was my thought entirely. Tell the merchants a seventh home game is a bad idea? It is when you are scheduling the Grambling St and Central Arkansas type teams.

I sent him a nice email explaining how what he is doing is dumb. I'm sure it will go over well.

It is particularly annoying after we got screwed out of a home game last season.

At least the CU AD keeps serving up the turd in the punchbowl game to kick off the season at the Mile High Gulag....

I think Bohn blocked my email. I don't get any responses from my CU email even if they are nice

Same thing happened to me with a respectful, yet to the point email I sent Dr. Phil a few weeks ago after that stupid interview he did.

the thing about stuff like this is that actions speak louder than words. this smells of an athletic department desperate for cash, even at the expense of its fans and at the expense of the fb program, too.

rather than spin, spin, spin, i'd like to understand why we felt the need to add a one and done payday game at the big house, as if we are some ****ing d-2 program looking for a big score to fund the team.

i'd also like to understand how this quest for a quick score maps to the vague promises we have received about facilities upgrades.

finally, i'd like to understand all of these decisions in light of the revenue stream that will now be coming in to us from the p12 tv contract. while i understand it is not a panacea, it is still a very healthy increase in cash coming in. even factoring in the debt to the university, why do we need to make short-term funding decisions at the cost of the long term health of the program?

i am not on a rant here. i am honestly perplexed and i feel like the CUAD is withholding critical information that would help us understand these decisions.

looking at it rationally, they would not have made these calls unless necessity absolutely warranted it. this isn't bohn or someone else just doing it out of incompetence (which some folks have suggested on these message boards). there is a driver than we are currently not being allowed to understand.

FOIA requests coming?

I would do it, but am afraid of what a FOIA request for all emails between Bohn/any CU AD member and any University of Michigan AD member would find. I mean, I think I would have to send Rugged on a mission with a license to kill.

fair enough, but what about ringo at the bdc? maybe someone should put a bug in his ear to do a little journalism work and dig into this. something is not making sense.

i understood, at a 10,000 foot level, the ohio state game-- that was bridge funding basically to get us through the transition to the new conference. but, this michigan game and the choice to not add a HOME game are far harder to understand as a fan, booster, and alum. perhaps we need more transparency?

Eventually, I think Allbuffs will be one of those fansites that does do a FOIA in order to find something out. However, with the impending hopeful facilities announcement, the last thing we want to do is rock the boat.

Would be nice if a journalist would start asking tough questions.

I get to go see the buffs in the big house and buffs make out like bandits. No complaints here.

In response, I'll re-post something I just wrote on the Rivals board:

CU did it because we're bush league on these issues. There was a lot of money to be made by playing a road game in Michigan. Having them play at CU in return wouldn't have been as profitable as bringing someone else in because of the revenue split that Michigan commands to go on the road. This is nothing more than CU whoring out the program in hopes that all the fans will see is, "Cool!!! We get a road trip and national game at the Big House!!! Woot!!!".

Utah understands that if you want to be a top program you have to act like a top program -- even if the short-term payday may be lower. CU does not get it.

Like I have said before, Benson and Dr. Phil want to look like they are going to put a contender on the field athletically. They will show up at the Recruting luncheons and other athletic type events doing the rah-rah thing, all the while being the windsocks they are...flitting whatever direction the wind tells them. It's pretty much BS. They really just want everything quiet. No scandals, no pesky questions about money being spent on athletics, happy academics, happy Boulderites, happy legislators. MB is their yes man manager, nothing more, nothing less.....

I guess if we can't support 8 home games then there's no point in expanding Folsom to 60k+

Or get a practice facility. Let's just go on the road for the entire month of September and have the minimum amount of home games
