Football: CU Buffs' Mike Bohn disappointed in loss of Pac-12 and Big Ten deal

Sure he is, now he actually has to work to fill the OOC schedule.

Yeah.

Now he's not getting bailed out by the conference and is left on to his own devices to try to do better than one-offs for marquee games balanced by home games against 1-AA programs. ****!

****ing one and dones are easy to schedule. Now start brining some big time opponents to Boulder Mike. 10 year contracts with an inferior little brother at a stadium that we all hate and one and dones, Mike Bohn's legacy. Call him the sell out king. (Can you tell I have been drinking and am a little fed up tonight!)

Feeling a lot of hate toward Bohn.....not sure this is all his fault....but, we are likely due for a change.

I don't hate Bohn at all. He's done an incredible job apart for some scheduling and coach issues (which ties in with budget driving decisions).

What my concern is that he's a fine architect, but that doesn't mean he's also going to be the right person to have and implement the next stage of the vision. Does his vision extend as far as we would like? Can he implement it?

Agree...and now it is the time to bring in someone else to launch us to the next level....

Groupons, yeah that's the ticket to drive season ticket sales! Oh wait, I better check with Phil, you know what happened last time I left my desk for the bathroom without permission.....

Yep. Made him work on Saturday and Sunday for those damn TPS reports!

Wouldn't matter because no AD will be able to do much under this administration.

this.

is it really MB that we are pissed at or is it his puppet masters. if MB leaves and does a scorched earth departure, we will know. if not, as things stand now, i am not really sure who i should be mad at. i have a hunch that it goes above MB though.

too many things that have happened where MB wanted to do "A" by his own words but "B" was done and we find out after the fact that pressure was brought on MB to make it so. DII is example #1.

now, if MB can not stand up, he needs to go. however, what good will that do? do you think those puppet masters are going to bring in someone stronger than MB? i doubt it.

then what? it just gets worse.

personally, i think it goes above MB and he is not given the room to operate as he would like to.

with the facilities thing... i can see a repeat of the DII drama...

we have the funding in place for the new facilities yet, at the same time the school will be going to the state begging for additional higher education funds. how can the pols do that when the football program is going to announce a $250 million expansion of a statium that is at most 90% full and a program that is winning 3 games a year? the general public will not like that.

i know the general public cant make the distinction between funding the athletic program and funding the school. does not matter. the reality is that the general public thinks it comes from the same pot. even though it does not. and the people at the top are pols first. they have to deal with the reality they exist in. not ours.

until they are replaced by people who can articulate the true story. not gonna hold my breath on that part.

until the school is led by people who value athletics just as much as they value academics, this is what we are going to have. at least, that is my opinion. i could be proven wrong. time will tell.

i just have a hunch that MB is a bit pigeon holed here.

I would buy this except for the part about CU asking the state for more money. CU gets so little from the state that it is a de-facto private institution now. CU doesn't need money from the state anymore. I know DiStephano and Benson like to cry about state funding, but the fact of the matter is that they haven't had decent state funding for over 10 years.

What worries me about Bohn is the track record. The money programs didn't win anywhere he's ever been. SDSU, for example, was a doormat. He did some great things there and set the table, but they didn't start being really good in men's and women's hoops while ascending in football until Bohn left for CU. Could be that he would have been great and they would have had all that success or more with him still there as AD, but I don't have anything on his resume to hang my hat on and say "winner" instead of "architect".

After reading the article, aside from reaffirming my opinion that MB is whining because he actually has to schedule now, my other takeaway is that U$C and the 'Furd are a bunch of soft vaginas.

I don't know, man. If we had an annual game against Notre Dame like they do instead of the 75% win against CSU, I wouldn't be all that in favor of having an 11th BCS opponent auto-scheduled for us.

Eh - you're probably right, but Notre Dumb has been such a bunch of turd sandwiches lately it's hard for me to believe that U$C and Furd are all that skeert of them.
