Random Friday discussion for everyone -- in five years when you look back at last season, which game will be more memorable for you?

* Beating Arizona in the Pac-12 Championship
* Beating UNLV in the first round of the NCAA Tourney

The NCAA Tournament is a bigger deal, but by that point, people had started to catch on that we were a team that could do some damage and quite a few people were picking us to win. Meanwhile, the Pac-12 Championship was a shock to most people, and it was also the win that gave us our first ever conference tournament championship in school history. Both involved us getting big leads and then having to hang on at the end.

So when you think back to the 2011-12 season, will you remember Tad & Co. cutting down the nets at Staples Center, or will you remember turning the Pit into Coors Event Center South and knocking off the Running Rebels?

Arizona. We cut down nets for the first time in over 40 years. That's pretty ****ing memorable.

Also, if there's another game that you'd like to suggest, throw it out. These two just seemed to be the most obvious.

I think I'm going Arizona, but it's close. Honestly, one game that really sticks out in my mind from last year was the Washington game at the Keg. It was at that point that I realized that if things went right, this team could do some serious damage. Washington ended up being the regular season champs, and we just took them to the woodshed.

Also, I'm curious if your vote on this is different if you were at the game or not. I wasn't lucky enough to be at either one in person, but from what I heard the atmosphere around the NCAA trip was a little more electric than the Conference Tournament games.

I was at neither game, but 31 other teams won a 1st (2nd) round game in the tourney, no other teams won the PAC:12 EVER.

i remember being at Blake st tavern for the Arizona game and the place going crazy, and how happy we were afterwards but actually going down to ABQ to see the Buffs play, and win, in an NCAA tournament game was way more special for me.

I'm honestly kind of surprised by the results. I figured with the Pac-12 being "down" this year (and therefore not nearly getting the attention it would most years) combined with the fact the nation was watching us in the dance, that it would be 60-40% in favor of the Arizona game.

Oregon in the Pac-12 QF. I thought for sure we'd lose. It took a heroic final 90 seconds, and staunch defense from Nate to seal.

I'm the lone dissenter, although it may be because of my interpretation of the question. "More memorable" for the masses? Our NCAA appearance and second-round win. To most CBB fans, what you do in the tourney is all that matters.

"More memorable" for those of us connected to the program? The Pac12 hardware.

I still can't believe that we are going to have a banner that hangs in our rafters.

When I look back in 20 years, which game will be stuck in my mind? That's what "more memorable" means to me. And without a doubt it was winning the Pac-12 championship.

hopefully we will have many more pac 12 championships and NCAA tournament victories, but the first championship is the sweetest.

I should say Arizona but I'm gonna go with UNLV because I was there and it was my first road game for any sport.

Even though I was at the UNLV game the Arizona game got my vote. It was for a championship and those should always be special. It wasn't quite a Miracle In Michigan moment the way we won that game, but I ran around the house screaming to the point that the neighbors came by to see what the hell was wrong with me. I didn't expect us to make it to or win that championship game. After that happened, I went into the UNLV game expecting that we would indeed win that one. It is more memorable to me because in that game they did more than I expected they could do.

I voted P12 title game. Not only was it for a championship, it has the more memorable Carlon Brown late-game, fast-break dunk. He had one against UNLV, but the Arizona dunk was what basically clinched the game. That's a play I still picture in my head.

UNLV only because I wasn't able to watch the Zona game. Plus Blake St Tavern was awesome

While I might be a bit biased (I was there), I too voted for the zona game. the atmosphere was dominated by zona fans, but we had a decent contingent and the students behind the hoop definitely helped. and yes, i'll remember carlon brown's crossover drive to the hoop for the thunder dunk right in front of the basket i was sitting near until i die, and i'll remember the post-game ceremony as well. as this game was the proudest i've ever been as a buff fan, there's no way any other game could take the crown of "most memorable."

the UNLV game i will most likely remember how close I came to getting kicked out of the Wynn's sports book in vegas after seeing our team collapse toward the end. of course i'm glad we won, but hey-zoos, i think i lost about 2-3 years of my life that night.

I think it is time for CU to step it up in the club room this year.

1 - serve better beer, there are tons of microbreweries in this area, please pick one and increase what you offer.
2 - get a few more tv's, it wouldn't hurt to have 5 big screen tv's
3 - show the CU game on more than half the tv's
4 - before the game, show some replays of great CU basketball games (Texas win in 2010, PAC:12 tourney games, UNLV game)
5 - sell some snacks. I feel like it is dinner or trail mix with you guys. Have some chips, cookies and other small items available to purchase.

AND REINSTATE FREE POPCORN. Done.

I voted for the NCAA tourny game against UNLV.
- Almost everyone I talked to had UNLV in their bracket so this game and not the Arizona game brought more respect and recognition.
- yes winning the PAC championship was very special but the PAC12 was a mediocre conference and I don't think most people gave us a whole lot of credit for it.
- Hadn't won an NCAA tourney game since the mid 90's
- I think the run of 4 wins in the PAC tourny was more impressive than the single win over AZ

Either way, both games were very memorable for CU fans because we just haven't had all that many meaningful games to remember.I have BOTH games saved on my DVR and don't plan on deleting either one any time soon!!!

Both games certainly got ugly for a bit in the second half with the Buffs being drained and forgetting how to score, but it has to be Zona because winning a Pac-12 Championship will prove more memorable than winning an NCAA tournament game, IMO.
